You must monitor the temps and any getting below 32 degrees must be consumed immediately.

Thrilled that some of life’s more important issues are finally being addressed on this forum.
Maybe accept the 10 cent a can/bottle deposit and return them before you return back home.

No, I sympathize with the OP. Going to a supermarket and feeding a hundred cans into the return counter to get 10 bucks is a PITA. Pure Michigan.

I would also keep it away from the tailgate area... that’s where it’s probably most susceptible to the cold because there is no seal around the opening. Just my 2 cents.

I have had beer surrounded by LOTS of ice in an air tight cooler, and have had my beer get a little chunky, but never froze. I assume this is in a truck without a Tonneau cover...maybe you mentioned that. Put your cases up against the cab, or better yet, by a keg or three; 15.5 gallons each.

I once asked a beer guy why the beer didn't freeze on delivery trucks. He told me movement was the difference. I've been transporting beer to the UP for years and never lost an ounce.

Yep raising kids is a PITA
Doing dishes, making your bed, cleaning up after yourself is a PITA
Recycling is a PITA
Paying for college is a PITA
Thinking about your great grandchildren and other people is a PITA

Now being selfish, and squandering, and packing the land fills with glass and aluminum... now that is what life is all about!

If is too much to ask that you chuck the cans in one at a time, you can just push your cart into the bottle deposit room and walk away. Your mother will clean up after you.

M9st commercial beer will freeze at 29 degrees. The higher alcohol craft beer freezes at about 24 degrees. I think you should be OK in a covered bed.
