Default Trans programming?

I dislike the way my trans shifts. Hate the upshifting to higher gears and running 1200rpm. What tuning companies seem to have good tuning for these transmissions?

Could provide more info. How do you want it to shift?
As a cheesehead myself I'll recommend an in state tuning shop BCB. Their caned of supplied tune Highlander on mt GTX allows altering shift pressures, if buying a custom dataloged tune they will adjust for what you can describe accurately.
I use a 5% pressure increase 1-2 and 2-3 on a 6 speed 2.7. In sport mode the shifts are further up in the power band, quicker and firmer. BCB added this to my custom 93 octane tune. If you do not like cruising at 1200 RPM, use the gear lock out feature of the OEM trans program. I lock out top gears to keep in the 2000 RPM range. KM

I dont want to cruise at 1200 rpm. I get annoyed at having to push the button to lock out gears. I am willing to spend $$$ to avoid having to do it. I dont use sport because I dont like the rev hang. Other than that I am fine with it. The shifts are fine, I dont mind the gear skipping, though if it didn't do it I would probably be happy. If I get better performance out of the engine because of a tune, Im fine with that too, but I certainly dont need any ultra performance tunes.

Is BCB a better experience than going with a big name like 5*? I dont know really anything about tuning. I dont want to fiddle **** around with stuff, just set it and forget it and have it work proper. Thanks

I think you should call both tuning companies and tell them what you want changed and go with the one that you feel most comfortable with. I've only used 5Star and I've been happy with my experience. I too dislike the stock trans tuning and 5Star has given me what I wanted. I do like the different choices of tunes but have found that my Adaptive tune is my go-to tune. Be forewarned, with any tuning you may have to do revisions to get the tune the way you want it. That involves feedback from you to the tuner so they can make the changes you want. I've found that usually by revision 2 or maybe 3, that the tune is exactly how I want it. Thats part of the "fun" because they can get it to drive the way you want it too for the most part.

I don't think any tune is going to do what you're looking for, which appears to be just having a higher cruising rpm.

As bluetruck already mentioned, the only way to accomplish this is manual gear selection (lockout of higher gears pending speed)

I do this routinely, to keep my 2.7 in it's sweet spot of 1700-2000 cruising rpm. It's really quite intuitive once you get used to doing it, just clicking the "+" & "-" button when appropriate.

I usually run 7th to 50 or so, 8th up to 60, 9th to 70, then 10th over 70.

I have MPT 93 daily tune on my 17 3.5 10 speed. There tune is perfect for you. Lowest RPM I have seen is about 1700 rpm going 75mph. Most of the time it's in the 1800-2200 RPM range. This is on the original tune as well. Haven't sent them a data log. Low end power is pretty dope I must say.
