Default Trailer Brake Controller

Looking to add a brake controller to my 2.7EB XLT SCREW. Looking at eBay, I see three kinds, generally speaking: the Ford blue label at about $140, the Motorcraft at $90, and a $45 no-name. Not interested in the $45 one, but does anyone have experience with the Motorcraft part? I'm not opposed to the Ford blue label, but if the Motorcraft is just as good, I'd like to save a few bucks. Thoughts?

I pull a 6500 pound travel trailer. I have used a variety of TBCs over the years and found that the best is the OEM. On this latest truck I had the dealer install the TBC. It took less than half an hour and just under $500.00. For me it's money well spent for the peace of mind and the reliability of the unit as well as a warranty. I'm just not comfortable buying critical electronics off of ebay.

The OEM controller costs $140 and takes 30 minutes to install and program with Forscan. You paid $360 for 1/2 hour of labor.

Also, is there a good source to educate yourself on getting Forscan onto a device and using it?

I bought mine from TASCA, so it came from a reputable dealer. If the eBay seller is a dealer, I would think it would be OK. Otherwise you run the risk of it being a Chinese knockoff, which is a no-no.

I purchased mine from Fairway Ford off of eBay. Installed it myself and programmed it in with Forscan. There's a few videos on YouTube on how to do it, but its pretty straightforward.

So, what do you think is the difference between these two? Is the Motorcraft not worth the savings? Is their an inherent risk in using it?

Reading the red label what the h*ll is a "name module"? That label a Chinese copyright infringement?

Does seem kinda sketchy.
I should add. My local Ford dealer said they don't "show" a Motorcraft Controller available - only the Ford blue label.
I know there are counterfeit Motorcraft parts out there, but is this a case where Motorcraft doesn't make a controller, but the counterfeiters didn't realize that?
If there is a real Motorcraft controller, I'd be curious to see what the box looks like, if it comes from a reputable source.
