slightly off topic... but i made the effort and checked tire pressure with a calibrated tool (used at dealers) and the TPMS in my F150 are within +1/-1 psi of what the calibrated tool states (which is calibrated to some insanely small accuracy). so they are pretty accurate
TPMS is standard in Canada. And in fact, a new law as of last summer states that tire shops can't sell you tires mounted on rims without TPMS sensors. They can however, sell you tires and rims separately, and you put them on yourself. And no, you can't buy them separate and then have them mount the tires, because again, they need TPMS sensors.
Could never find this law, or policy, but after going to 3 different tire shops and having them all tell me the same thing, I just assumed it's probably legit. I didn't mind shelling out for the sensors that much anyways. Nice to be able to check my pressures on the road anyways.
Also, there's a chance you may get in trouble with the law or insurance if you don't have sensors and there was an accident caused by low tire pressure/losing control, and it's not hard to check.
All tires sold in Canada have a tire identification number moulded into the sidewall. This number provides tire retailers specific manufacturing information about when and where the tire was made. The first two characters following DOT indicate the manufacturer and plant code; the third and fourth characters are the tire size code. The fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth are optional. The final four give the manufacturing date. For example, 2611 indicates that the tire was manufactured in the twenty-sixth week of 2011.

All 2016 models have TPMS in Canada and those sport rims should have come with them. I bought a set from Tasca for the rims off my 13 and had them installed.
I'm going down to my dealer this afternoon to see if they would be willing to swap my 20's for a set of these. Afterall it would increase the sale value for which ever XLT they shove em on and it would make me a happy customer.
There is a set of sport wheels for sale in 15+ parts for sale. Not sure if still available. I bought new tpms's for my new wheels from Fairway Ford in Ohio for about $115 for 4.
Are TPMS sensors standard by default on all new 2016 models?
I got a 2016 Lariat and don't like the 20" chrome wheels. In Alberta there are lots of sets on Kijiji / Craigslist from owners who swap out their new wheels.
I'm specifically after a set of 2016 XLT Sport 18"s as in the photo below and I found a few sets. My issue is some guys say they have TPMS from the factory and others are adamant and insist they don't. I assumed all 2016 Sport XLT wheels have them, but I'd though I'd ask around here first before finding out the hard way.
I searched around online first and didn't find a clear answer. Your feedback is appreciated, thanks.
2016 Sport 18" wheel
They don't have the TPMS, if they took it out to put on their new wheels. I have a set of stock wheels with 295/70r18 terra grapplers mounted and ready to roll, sitting in my garage. They don't have TPMS sensors in them though because I had them moved to the new Hostage wheels she is riding on now.
