Time to replace?!?
Because my wife is worried that one of our coil on plugs will crap out between Florida and Denver (5 new Standards and 1 Sorenson), she wonders if it’s time to trade in the 2016 XLT (110K) for a newer F-150 or a Ram……..
You are thinking about spending a boat load of money for another truck because you are worried about a coil on plug? If it`s that just buy a couple of Ford coils, throw them in the cubby and call it a day, in the unlikely event that you may need one. What makes you think a newer (especially used) truck is going to fare any better. If it ain`t broke, don`t fix it. It`s your money though.
Fix the truck you have now.
Just change them all with OEM. You should get 60,000+ trouble free miles for less than 1 payment. Almost 150,000 miles on my '15 2.7 OE COP's. If one COP goes, all plugs and all coils will get replaced.
As others have said, replace the plugs and coils not the truck itself. Far less money than a new truck.
If you and the wife are itching for something new, start building the truck you want with the one you have as the base. Need inspiration? Go get lost in the Members Build section of the forum. Plenty of ideas on how to part ways with your money there that will still bring you under the cost of a brand new or new to you truck.

If the money is right, do it. Wish I'd have had a wife like that, mine would ****/moan/whine everytime the truck needed tires, oil changes, etc. Notice how I mentioned "had".
BTW, she was well taken care of.
All in all though, I have to agree, plugs and coils are much cheaper, but they don't smell as good.
