Thinking of taking the plunge
OK I'm sure this has been asked hundreds of times but I'm gonna ask it anyways. Well let me start by saying I have an 04 fx4 screw has 180k on the odometer but I just replaced the motor the original had the famous tick which lead into the timing chains breaking so yea $3600 later and new motor runs good. But also the rear end was making noise so I brought that in to have the dealership rebuild it only way I brought it there is because I have an extended warranty that covered that. Well long story short truck is at dealership getting fixed in the mean time they gave me a 2015 lariat screw with the 3.5 ecoboost to drive . Let me tell you I'm one of those guys that said I would never buy a truck without a v8 but I have fallen in with this truck . It is loaded to the gills . I guess my first question would be they want 43k for this truck has 10k miles on it . Just seeing how fair of price that is . Also just looking at new 15 and 16 . Want to stay with the 3.5 just like them better then the 2.7 and 5.0 . Just wanted to know if anyone is having problems with the turbos or anything else with the truck . Just don't want to buy something that will be in the shop more then I will be driving it. I know it's a new truck but guess it's just for me to know .or if there are things I should look for in a used truck going to stick with 15 or 16
Personally, I'd never give $40k for a used truck. I just bought my NEW 2016 xlt 4 WD Screw with 302a, Sport packagw, panoramic moonroof and tailgate step for less than that. Sticker was $53k and I walked out paying $38k, plus tax tag title. Total purchase was $40k, minus my trade in. Honestly, Even for the right price, I'd err on the side of caution and get a 16. I never buy first model year after major changes. That being said, I love my new truck. Hoping for many happy years driving it.
And, at least test drive a 5.0 before buying. I thought about the 3.5. I just found the 5.0 much better sounding and more fun to drive, not to mention the likelihood of longevity. Gas mileage is about the same between the two. I just enjoyed the 5.0 more.

There you go. As you just said, get exactly what you want. Or at least close to it, but to where you can do some add-ons to get it exactly like you want it. Don't settle for less. Big investment. At least get the color you want.
That's a XLT with everything on it. I've seen Lariats around that price before discount. They do discount the XLT's more than any other model.
Do you know how much R&D Ford does before they release it? You think YOURE going to find its faults? Youre crazy. I have a 15, not one problem with it. And you can bet Ford will honor the warranty.
Think it's retarded all you want. Fact is that every manufacturer has more tsb's and issues with all new model vehicles: Ford, Chevy, Mercedes, car, truck or jeep. I'm sure they will honor the warranty....I'd just rather not have to deal with it and lose my truck to the shop over and over. The tsb's are posted....they always have issues with new model vehicles and correct those issues in following years. Congratulations on having no issues. Most 15's will be problem free. They're good trucks. But you have a greater chance of having issues with a 15 than a 16. That's just a mathematical fact.

Why do people say this. This is the most retarded thing I see on the forum.

Yeah, look at the TSB's. smh
A few of them say 2000-2015 ford, lin, merc lol
Most of them are for stupid little crap.
I think youre safe buying a 2015 bro. Just my opinion. Then again, I dont have visions of grandeur that I can break Ford's years of extensive research and development building the best selling truck for like 36 years.

You have a whopping 80 posts. I bet you didn't own an f150 in previous generations first model year. There were more quality issues that the second and later years. This is still true but not as widespread. Glad you are having no issues. Also- yes a warranty addresses it IF the dealer can fix it to your satisfaction plus the hassle....
