Techron?
Thank you for all the info! Mine is a CPO, so I'm not sure of what they were putting in it fuel wise for the first 20K before I bought it. Since owning it I've only used BP/Holiday gas which are on the top tier website. This is my first oil change coming up so thought I'd throw in for Techron as well. A local store has the 12oz bottles for $5 so thought I'd ask here before buying a bunch. I was planning on doing 3 of the 12oz bottles to treat my 36gal tank. Wanted to make sure I wasn't using too much!
Thanks for the help!
PEA is the ingredient you're looking for. If a cleaner has it in the same concentration as Techron it'll work just as well. I did a deep dive on this subject some time ago and the consensus was do one tank of Techron then one tank of Chemtool B-12 right before an oil change. I can personally tell you the B-12 is killer stuff. I had a 98 F-150 with the 4.2 and had to do my upper intake gaskets. Figured I'd test a few products since the fuel rail and injectors were out. All of them were varnished up pretty good. My Dad's favorite product in the whole wide world - seafoam - did absolutely nothing as far as cleaning goes. I left it overnight even then used a toothbrush on them and the seafoam suuuuuucked. B-12 had those things clean in minutes. Is that good or bad? Could that much cleaning power be doing more harm than good to other components? IDK but I saw with my own eyes how well it worked and I use it very sparingly in all my engines once or twice a year. It's cheap too which is a bonus.
I always run Top Tier gas in my truck so I don’t think I should need to run these products. Exxon and Shell are priced competitively in my area. I receive a 6 cent per gallon discount on Exxon when I use my ExxonMobil credit card (discount is applied on the bill). This makes Exxon gas cheaper than the bargain brands in my area.

BG 44K if you really need to clean out a fuel system. Techron is for maintenance. If it's really dirty, Techron isn't enough.

Run top tier fuel all the time and you'll keep the stuff it comes in contact with cleaner. It won't do anything for the intake tract or the back side of the valves because they won't ever see it. I pass a Shell station on both ends of my work commute so I run their 87 octane.
If you have a Costco membership, use their gas. It's toptear gas as well.
