A local store has the 12oz bottles for $5 so thought I'd ask here before buying a bunch. I was planning on doing 3 of the 12oz bottles to treat my 36gal tank. Wanted to make sure I wasn't using too much!
Did you ever get an answer? I bought my first bottle and claims to treat up to 15 gallons, my truck holds 36 gallons so I wasn't sure if I needed more than one bottle.
Thanks for the help!

You need 2.5 bottles if you want to use it at the recommended concentration.

Why do you say that? Redline and Lucas were my other options I was considering. Heard good things about BG 44k as well.

I live in Houston and a Shell additive engineer actually told me Techron is the best stuff out there.

PEA is the ingredient you're looking for. If a cleaner has it in the same concentration as Techron it'll work just as well. I did a deep dive on this subject some time ago and the consensus was do one tank of Techron then one tank of Chemtool B-12 right before an oil change. I can personally tell you the B-12 is killer stuff. I had a 98 F-150 with the 4.2 and had to do my upper intake gaskets. Figured I'd test a few products since the fuel rail and injectors were out. All of them were varnished up pretty good. My Dad's favorite product in the whole wide world - seafoam - did absolutely nothing as far as cleaning goes. I left it overnight even then used a toothbrush on them and the seafoam suuuuuucked. B-12 had those things clean in minutes. Is that good or bad? Could that much cleaning power be doing more harm than good to other components? IDK but I saw with my own eyes how well it worked and I use it very sparingly in all my engines once or twice a year. It's cheap too which is a bonus.

I used to own a BMW with the N60 turbo 3 liter inline 6. My dealer’s service shop manager told me to either run Chevron or Shell gas (premium only on that engine), or dump a bottle of Techron in the tank occasionally. BMW’s own cleaner is pure Techron, but is more expensive than the Chevron branded stuff.

I always run Top Tier gas in my truck so I don’t think I should need to run these products. Exxon and Shell are priced competitively in my area. I receive a 6 cent per gallon discount on Exxon when I use my ExxonMobil credit card (discount is applied on the bill). This makes Exxon gas cheaper than the bargain brands in my area.

BG 44K if you really need to clean out a fuel system. Techron is for maintenance. If it's really dirty, Techron isn't enough.

If you have a Costco membership, use their gas. It's toptear gas as well.
