well, no s h i t ... you'd have to have a pretty good or pretty dumb forklift operator to load a pallet with the stripper pole up...

which was the reason for my comment, I dont see how the step or the pole affects loading except like I said, the pallet will ride on the folded-down pole at some point.

well first ill admit i didnt read all the posts, after 3 pages of people just saying yes get it i skipped to ask my question..

I had this on my 2012 and didnt use it much.. Now that i have a lift installed on my 2015 i wish i had it..

Has anyone tried installing this in a tailgate that doesnt have the step??

anyone know if its a "bolt on" option that could be installed of if you would have to get an entire new tailgate?

This is the one option I regret not getting on my lariat 502A. I will install an AMP step soon. Can't stand not having a step!

To answer your question I believe this requires a completely different tailgate. I don't think you can retrofit it.

Yeah I'm not 100% positive on that but I've read it a few times now in other posts. I've thought about retro fitting one too if it were possible.

I had asked my dealer the same thing. He thought he could order the parts, and just bolt it in, but it's so new he couldn't verify the parts catalog.

The other option might be to do a tailgate trade with your dealer?
