For the young it is not important. For me(65) a disabled vet with two total knee replacements and a rebuilt ankle I say thank you Ford. The new style that is not on top of tailgate is a nice system.

I've only had mine a few days and I've used it every day. and part of the reason it gets used so much is because it's so easy to deploy. it takes a couple seconds. and 3 or 4 seconds if you need to put up the handlebar.

Use mine all the time and use the side steps that I got also very frequently.

Took care of someone who had a 2014 F150 and fell off the tailgate and sustained a pretty serious injury and that convinced me that is was well worth the price....

You know what the real advantage is? It keeps your clothing clean when you're climbing up.

Thanks!
I was hesitant at first because of its added weight but it really works well. I have it as it is included in my Platinum 701A package. My kids like it hanging around in the bed with the spray-in bed liner.

I think I miss the "Box Side Steps".

That too! I used to haul computer equipment in my truck for work. Although now that I'm getting this truck I also moved up at my job and don't haul equipment. Oh well!
