I think it's one of those things where you never realize how great it is until you've had it. Sure you're fine without it but its even better when you have it. Even if you only use it 10% of the time.

I agree. Could not imagine not having after only having the truck for a week. The one thing i have noticed is that it does not sit completely flush with the top of the tailgate when closed. I am going to see if the dealer can adjust it when I take it in for the first oil change.

Get the step. My last truck didn't have it, but this one does. Recently went to buy a new 24" mountain bike for my son. The look on my wife's face was priceless when I pulled out the step and just walked into the bed with it in my hand. She was sure she'd have to help me.

If I had ordered a truck I never would've ordered the step. I ended up buying one off the lot, sorta on a whim. It had the step included, which kinda made me laugh.....until I tried it. I'm 6'4" and I use it anytime I actually need to climb into the bed. Makes it way easier and is nice to have!! Would recommend it to others for sure.

I'm trading a 2006 Tacoma for my F150. When I parked next to a '14 F150 at the dealer it looked like the F150's tailgate would be higher than the Tacoma, and I assumed the same would go for a '15. It's annoying and kind of painful to put my knee on the tailgate to climb in (bumper mostly covered by the tailgate), and my wife's back is all mess up. I don't intend to pull the handrail/post/thing out most of the time, but the step will save my knees, shins and back.

The dealer I ordered from thought they could order the step (or a complete tailgate with one) later and install if I wanted, but since I ended up ordering the truck I included that in the build.

Came on my 13, use rarely but is nice when used. Would I have ordered it, no. Wished it were not so obvious on the tailgate kinda in the way at times.
