Default Tailgate release problems

Anyone having problems getting their remote tailgate release to work? Mine won't release tailgate and now I can't get tailgate to open manually either. When this first happened found that right side wasn't latching completely so I would push it in till it clicked and then it would work. Now that doesn't even work. Help!

I have to click the button twice on the key fob or on the tailgate then pull a bit to get it started. I would just go to the dealership to get it fixed. I have an apt next week for mine.

I can double click the button on the FOB, or just push the button on the tail gate. I don't have to help it, sounds like there is an alignment issue on yours. Bring it to the dealer.

Should mention I have a bakflip revolver x2.

Did you have Line-x or any after market liner sprayed in the bed? Do you have a tonneau cover that sits flush such as the BakFlip, Ford REV, Undercover flex? If the answers are no to both it sounds like you need to bring it to the dealer and have them adjust it.

^ This. Good advice. If something is binding, the dealer should be able to fix it.

I had Line-X sprayed in my bed and gate. It caused no issues at all. Still opens...

And that is how it should be however a few people have had Line-X sprayed and it caused the tailgate to stick which is why I mentioned it.

This was happening before I had a Rhino Bed sprayed on so I know that is not it. Am taking it back to dealer next week.

Default Tailgate won't release!!

I haven't used the tailgate much but the very weekend I need it to move my daughter into college the tailgate will not open. The dealer hopefully will get the issue resolved!!

Default Tailgate Bumpers?

Try pushing on the gate as if closing while hitting the release.

Mine hung up a few times and found that the bumpers (rubber black do dads) near the top of the tail gate opening were turned. They should be straight in as in the pic below.
