Connector listed on Tasca is for the light bar. But how it connects, I dont know until I get my hands on the part.

The link Sizzle posted, I could not get to work.

I really don't think the Ford part will work. The SuperDutys have so much more space there then the F150s and is say that light bar occupies 2/3rds of the height of that space. But still I'm going to confirm for sure it wont. The parts guy went out of his way to order me one in just to look at it and take measurements.

For the Chevy ones, I think the part I posted will work better....the newer part that starts with "2". It looks lower profile than the other one and is cheaper.

Has anybody checked to see what Dodge puts on its 2500s and 3500 trucks?

I was thinking use that harness if it is the chassis connector, and use what I already have. Still would like to know about the Ford unit though.
As far as the Dodge light, no I haven't looked. In fact, I never thought of the GM one until ClaKen mentioned it.
The Dodge dealer nearest me, I don't recall anything but Jeeps and Chargers in there. Next time I'm by it, I'll take a look, he's 35 miles away.

Not certain why my link didn't work, but that's the one.

The guys on the SuperDuty site were simply connecting them to the license plate light. Splice it into that wire so it comes on with the parking lights and then find a ground screw on the frame. Wiring sounds simple. I think it's just a matter of space, which we will know soon if you ordered one.

Here is a better picture of the wire assembly (and a link to purchase them as a package). From what I can tell, the plug goes into the light bar and the bare wires are spliced in to wherever you want. (license plate light and ground screw)

Thanks, the linked worked for me. That harness, does that connector plug in to the chassis harness, or plug in to the back of the light?
The way you described wiring, is the way I plan with that GM light. Appears I'm going to wait and see what that Ford light looks like, and if it'll fit,,,,,,,,,,.
Geez, I wish it was good weather, I'd be out there lookin' at things.

Don't bother with Dodge....I just looked into it and it almost looks like they're still using 3 incandescent light bulbs....they look like cheap junk compared to the Ford or Chevy ones.....I want a LED unit. The current GM one that I posted with the part # 22836268...im thinking is the best bet right now. The Chevys are def more low profile. I really want to use the Ford one but unfortunately I think one, it's not gonna fit and two, it might not look as good as the Chevy one in the small space there. Your going to be really stuffing that Ford one into that space there even if it does fit.......

You think you need to run the other wire to a ground screw or can you just run to the negative of the parking light circuit?

Good find, now wonder if they will fit my 13 Lariat??
Did you find any differences in these two parts?

Ya, LED is the way to go, it'll look a lot cleaner and more subtle than an incandescent one would.

You could run the ground either way, it all goes back to the same place, the negative batt post. I think a ground direct to body/chassis would be the easiest and cleanest way. Gotta be a screw or bolt somewhere handy back there.

Well my next stop is going to be the GM dealership tommorow morning....im going to see if they have that part I want....the later model one. I think that's gonna be the winner and only $35.
