Great!. Mine was more than that, can't recall, but I think it ran me around $58. If you can, see if they have the one like mine, just to see the difference.

The other GM piece looks like it is even smaller than the one you have.

Hmm, if that's the case, I might buy the smaller one, and stick this one on my Ranger. There appears to be more room on the little guy. Never saw anything like that on a Ranger.
The Chevy dealer is only 12 miles away, or I'll just order one from Tasca, depending on what you find.

I'm sorry but no chance today. Hope to be able to tomorrow. Did see a 15 Silverado dually up close, but couldn't tell if was LED or not. Know this is a 15>18 thread, don't think the GM parts listed will fit on 09-14 F150 without trimming the tailgate camera grommet. Think I'll do like johnday did on his 12. Have those LEDs in amber for my grill lights. They are great.

Glad you like them! Those are 7" OC, same as the Raptor Style lights I had in the grille.

The Ford OEM harness I linked to plugs into the back of the OEM LED light bar. Then there are the two free wires to splice into the tailgate light and a ground. Here's the back of the bar:

The way you described wiring, is the way I plan with that GM light. Appears I'm going to wait and see what that Ford light looks like, and if it'll fit,,,,,,,,,,.
Geez, I wish it was good weather, I'd be out there lookin' at things.

Thanks Sizzle! Looks like a hole needs to be drilled to feed the harness through on that, just like I plan with the GM light.
Due to the idea the Ford unit is too big, I'll just use one of the GM units.
Just need some reasonable temps to do it.

Anyone figured out if the newest GM unit is an LED bar?

And does anyone have the measurements for that "gap" in our tailgate where the light will go?

I bit the bullet and got the GM one on order...I think it's going to be the best....the newer part number. Pretty sure its LED. I think the Ford one is going to be too big. I will still go look at the Ford one when it comes in. But you don't have as big of a gap as you think there and you want it to look good and be visible.
I would say nothing over an inch tall.....less than an inch is better. Some of the thicker full tailgate aftermarket lights bars "just fit" in the gap.

Anyhow both parts should come in in the next couple days....ill investigate both. I'm stuck with the Chevy one tho....they made me buy it. But that plug on the Ford one is probably a no go for me because then it forces you to have to drill a hole in the truck. At least Chevy runs a wire out to a plug.

I'm gonna try to mount it like a aftermarket tailgate light bar. The Ford one dosent have a flush surface to put tape on. I'll have to see the back of the Chevy one. Either glue the piece to a piece of black plastic to mount or mount some sort of tape on clips that it pops into place like the tailgate light bars.

Most likely the newer vwersion is LED as, it would surprise me if it wasn't. If the back is anything like the older #, you'll have to trim some plastic nubs, and a stress relief out from around the pigtail. I, and ClaKen, both sealed around the pigtail, and one other hole with RTV.
The back of the olde # is flat, so it'll be easy to put on it, if the new # is like that.
When you get it, would you post up measurements? I'll bet they only changed the part numbers.

I did look today, and ClaKens post will confirm, there is room for the light.
