Sync vs Navigation
The way I read it You need the NAV software in MFT... That being said I PMed Brittany and she forwarded it to FordIV serice for a more definitive answer. Also dealer has said My truck is already locked in for production and Nav cannot be added. so I asked if the dealer could install it, still waiting on and answer on that.
Philly... You prolly need to update your MFT software to 3.0 it came out in 2013 and correct a buttload of problems.

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to jump in clear up some confusion.
If a vehicle is purchased with MyFord Touch, you will have the option to add voice-activated navigation. Ford will provide an SD card that contains all of the map information that is necessary for the navigation system to function properly.
If the vehicle is equipped with MyFord Touch without the factory-installed navigation, the SD card slot will be empty. The empty slot can be used to play media files from your personal SD card (similar to using a USB).
Keep in mind that once the vehicle has been built, you will no longer have the option of adding navigation. If a navigation SD card is inserted into a vehicle that has MyFord Touch without navigation, the system will not be capable of recognizing the card.
I noticed that a few of you mentioned SYNC Services as well. SYNC Services is a subscription offered through Ford that will allow you to do many things. With your phone connected to MyFord Touch, you can ask for turn-by-turn directions from your current location. The MyFord Touch system will only display maps on the screen if the vehicle is equipped with the factory-installed navigation. If you use SYNC Services without the factory-installed navigation, you will hear the instructions come through the speakers of your vehicle instead. More information about SYNC Services can be found here: http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...c-myford-touch
I know this is a lot of information to take in at once, so if anyone is still a little confused, don't be shy! Just ask.
