Default SYNC & text message notification

New owner here (did intro in the other forum and love my new truck!). I'm hoping to get some help with my SYNC. I've searched the forum for days and can't seem to get a resolution to my issue. Have a 2018 Platinum using bluetooth to my iPhone 6S (ios 11.3). All of the bluetooth functions for audio and calls work normally. But I can't get the darn text message notification to work. Every time I get in the truck, I have to hit the phone icon, then text messages where it then tells me that SYNC with text messaging is not enabled. So I hit Retry, and it links up fine. But I have to do this EVERY time I start the truck.

I've made sure that the bluetooth notifications are turned ON - as suggested in many posts here. I've tried unpairing, repairing, forget device, starting all over from scratch, etc. Someone please help?

I experience this same problem with my Blackberry, running Android. The weird thing is this doesn't always happen, it is sporadic. If you find a solution, please post here. I'll do the same.

Yep - that is checked (found that suggestion already). Still doesn't work.

Do a hard reboot on you phone. If that doesn't work, try a master reset on Sync. My iPhone X notifications work properly.

I have done that.

I have done this also.

I have all so un paired and re paired my phone.

I have a 2017 Platinum, and My iPhone 7 worked fine every time until last October. Ever since it is hit or miss weather it syncs for text. The phone syncs for text every time on my Harley. It also syncs every time for text in my Corvette. Yet its hit or miss in the truck. I have un-paired an re-paired the phone several times. I have hard booted the phone. I have done master rest on sync. Show notification on the phone is on. Have even tried turning it off then back on. Still hit or miss.

At least 3 of us are having this issue. Has to be something we're just not seeing. Two iPhones and an Android. Yesterday when I got in my truck to go to work, I had to manually sync. After work 10 hours later, it synced automatically. This morning, manual sync needed. Something really weird.

Yes very weird .... Leaving work last night the text notification linked up perfectly right away. This morning it did not. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!

Anything to do when volume is turned down? Sometimes when muted it could happen. I found this to be the case using Android Auto. Good luck!

2018 f150 and iPhone 5s. Text connections seem to connect. I don't get many texts so I haven't been paying close attention. I did get a text this morning and noticed that when driving you only get the audio text and no read text option. I can understand that but then the problem is I went to listen to the text and it did not mute the radio. So then I muted the radio but the audio text was so low I could barely hear it. Is there a way to adjust the volume of the text readout?
