Sync MFT Left for Dead?
I see alot of topics/threads in regards to Sync3 and others....but none about Sync MFT??
I have 2015 F150 Lariat with Sync MFT w/Nav. I am currently up to date on software v3.8.
Am I outta luck? Any more updates coming my way?
Any info greatly appreciated. thanks.

I see this as one of the big failings of all of these systems. We're generally used to updates to devices like our phones, our computer software and OS's, heck even our tvs, yet these "devices" cost FAR more, and have a much shorter End Of Life than your typical device. I wish there was a solution, but until aftermarket stereos get up to speed with the new tech I think we're pretty much stuck and shouldn't expect anything new.

As stated above, it works as designed. I don't see any reason to need updates if it is working as designed. After a certain point, our phones, TV's etc also have to drop off the support umbrella for a vendor.
In addition, the hardware can only do so much. My 6 year old iPhone 4S cannot run the same software that my brand new iPhone 7 can because the hardware was not there at the time the 4S was released. The same goes for the MFT. What we have is what the hardware from that time period can run.
What else is expected to be added? At the time that the MFT was released, the technology used in the Sync 3 systems was barely coming to market.
Outside of major bug fixes or security flaws, I don't see any reason that Ford should need to update MFT or Sync 2 on a regular basis. I have not yet seen any major bugs (at least any that are reproducible for everyone, 100% of the time), and there are limited security vulnerabilities that can be had on a system like MFT.
What is the reasoning behind wanting frequent updates? Are there features that you feel are missing, within a reasonable reach for the age of the hardware? (Again, keeping in mind that the MFT hardware cannot run Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, etc)
