Default Sync education?

I just got my new truck. I'm trying to figure this thing out because the woman at the dealership didn't know much.
If I'm listening to Sirius radio and i set my phone to give me turn by turn directions, or get a Voxer message I get no audio from the phone. So I have to have my audio set to BT to get that audio, and never listen to anything other than BT??
Or never let my phone pair to the sync and skip the hands free phone??

I'm a slow learner...

I don't know about my 2015 as I haven't used GPS on my phone yet but in my 2013, whenever my phone "talked" you'd hear it through Sync and the music being played via Bluetooth would quiet a bit.

As for outside of BT and if I'm listeing to the radio, Sirius, etc., you couldn't hear the phone through the radio, just when I got a phone call Sync would ring. As far as I know, it's only when you're phone is playing music via BT, Line-in, etc.

Logically that makes sense, but it isn't very handy. I mean I use waze all the time, and it won't say anything because it thinks its on BT audio. So I have to dump my XM if I want to use my phone apps, or skip the hands free phone?

I can hear my phone just fine with the radio on. Maybe you're thinking too much into it?

Maybe I'm just not being clear.
My PHONE does work no matter what audio input is chosen.
If i chose ANY other audio input except the BT none of the audio from my phone can be heard. EVERYTHING on the phone is silent, no messages, no alerts, no turn by turn, no audio from the phone at all accept phone calls. The phone is in bluetooth audio mode so it never makes a peep, and it doesn't come over the truck audio either.

If you enable call audio and media audio, you will hear nothing. If you disable media audio, leaving call audio enabled, you'll get the navigation voice over the phone, not the car speakers, and it won't stop the radio.

In my 2010 Fusion it USED to work fine, until an Android update killed it. Never worked again, and doesn't in the F-150.

Well that got me out of the woods. Thanks. But really, I was sold a bill of goods. This is nothing like I was told it would be. But then again, she told me my truck did NOT have "start stop technology" Um, yes, it most certainly does...

Did you not get the sync instruction booklet with the truck? It will explain how the whole system works.

That will teach you a lesson about buying a truck from a women...

Of course I don't mean it but had to put it out there. My salesman didn't have a clue about a majority of my questions. He tried to bs me at first then realized I had done some research then admitted he didn't know.

The sales staff needs better training

It doesn't matter if you buy a truck from a woman or a squirrel. It's not entirely their fault that the truck you bought doesn't do exactly what you want it to do.

You bought a Ford F-150, not a Mercedes Benz.

This can't be the first time you have dealt with a salesman? They never know anything about the vehicles they are selling.

As to the text and Bluetooth/radio/music problem,

You are over thinking the whole situation as someone else said. Good luck to you though.
