Sync education?
It doesn't matter if you buy a truck from a woman or a squirrel. It's not entirely their fault that the truck you bought doesn't do exactly what you want it to do. You bought a Ford F-150, not a Mercedes Benz. This can't be the first time you have dealt with a salesman? They never know anything about the vehicles they are selling. As to the text and Bluetooth/radio/music problem, You are over thinking the whole situation as someone else said. Good luck to you though.
I just got my new truck. I'm trying to figure this thing out because the woman at the dealership didn't know much.
If I'm listening to Sirius radio and i set my phone to give me turn by turn directions, or get a Voxer message I get no audio from the phone. So I have to have my audio set to BT to get that audio, and never listen to anything other than BT??
Or never let my phone pair to the sync and skip the hands free phone??
I'm a slow learner...

My dealer held SYNC classes in the evening and popped for pizza, and gave a free service (Oil & Lube) to attendees.
I'm dense. I attended two, and stopped by twice more.
My SYNC (2012) performs all function that are supported by my android phone. The radio and Sirius are shutoff when a call comes in and come back when the call is completed. If i enable a function it has control until I disable it.
Nothing plays in the background.
When I rec'd an android update I stopped by the dealer and said "make it work". A cute intern came out and she made it work.
If the dealer had not made it work, I would have sold that truck. I want plug and play in everything, not "read and figure it out"

RES4CUE,
The classes were far more informative and raised comfort level for us "seniors".
Your picture of truck (and you?) in the ditch is great. I found myself in a similar condition driving in a major rainstorm. I was following my S-I-L. on a fishing trip on the Jicarilla Apache reservation .... 7 miles of mud. When I hit the ditch he was shocked to see me pop out and slide into the opposite ditch, again and again. What a mess! but glad to have 4WD

Simple question
If you are listening to Sirius and you have your Waze or other map program active on your phone, will it send the audio through the truck audio?
If you're listening to Sirius through the truck, you won't hear any audio from an app installed on your phone. If you switch to the Bluetooth Audio input, SYNC will stream the audio playing from the phone through the speakers of the truck.
If your phone is capable of running the Waze app while you're streaming another music app at the same time, you'll notice a similar experience while connected via Bluetooth audio.
Did I clear things up, or make it worse?

Kim

That's what I needed. Thanks.
Time to cancel the Xm subscription and just run on my phone.
