Post SYNC Connect

Quick question, Just got a 2017 F150, V8 5L XLT,

I can see the fuel level with my smartphone (Fordpass). Does it mean my truck has the SYNC connect?

I do know,my F150 has the SYNC 3.

Yes. See this: https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-...c-connect.html

If your dealer did not review this with you, they didn't do what Ford pays them to do.

No, it does not mean that. If you enabled FordPass on your truck using your smartphone, Applink will use your phone's connection to get Vehicle Health data from the truck to the cloud, and show you your fuel level, alerts related to MILs and WILs, odometer mileage, and will allow you to run a Vehicle Health Report.

Sync Connect allows for things like remote start and stop, lock and unlock, location finding from Ford Pass.

P.S. I should point out that Sync Connect will give you that information, but that information being available doesn't mean that you have Sync Connect.

No the salesman just told me that all F150 2017 has the SYNC Connect. I paired my phone and installed the FordPass, everything went well, wait the 24 hours and did not get the other confirmation to allow access to my phone. The only think I have is the Fuel level and odometer reading after 72 hrs

I went back to the dealership and they told me that because I don't have the remote key to start the truck, I don't have the start remote module install.

I thought SYNC connect automatically come with the start up module. I am confused.

I did a master reset yesterday and still waiting for 24hrs.

When I ordered my 2017 XLT last April, Sync Connect was a $235 option that I declined.

It would had be nice to know that before I bought the truck, it is not a must to have for me, but when the salesman tell you that my truck come with this feature and found out that is not true 4 days after, that is not good.

I'd consider confronting him on this. If you were told it had it, and it doesn't, you should go back and see what they can do about taking your truck back and selling you one with the options you were promised.
