Can you provide some more specifics? When you say "basic sync system", do you mean you have the small 4" inch headunit or the MFT 8" touchscreen?

Do you know if this link works in Canada Shaay? I'd imagine it should all be the same?

I picked up a 2016 with Sync 3 last night and would like to know if I'm up to date.

 

Shaay, is there a way to update Sync3? For example, I accidentally ordered my truck without the NAV package, and would really like to have it, plus the ability to get the satellite weather and traffic subscription. I really really would like to have it. I'd drive to the factory if I had to, in order to get it.

 

Best way to figure it out is make an account and then try to register your vehicle. I would be very surprised if they had a different website for Canadian vehicles considering we are so close and both speak English.

As far as I know, if your truck does not come with Navigation, you cannot add it later on as an update to Sync. The only way to possibly add Navigation is to buy one of the kits from a third party that "unlocks" the feature.

 

I registered, and it accepted all my info but when I go to check for Sync updates it tells me my truck isn't equipped with Sync.

That's weird... I did a little researching for you, and if you have Wifi within range of your truck, this may be an option.
