Sync AppLink question
Hi All,
Hoping some of you can provide assistance.
I recently took delivery of a 2016 Platinum late build that has Sync's latest software Sync3 v2.0 and use a iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 10.1.1.
When I try to get Sync to recognize a supported app (Pandora) and show it on the screen it doesn't see any apps and get a message basically stating no supported apps are seen. I do have Pandora running on the phone and get this message whether I'm connected via bluetooth or USB.
That said I can listen to Pandora through the Sync head unit via Bluetooth or USB but looking to see the actual app on screen and hoping once I get Sync to recognize the app that I can change Pandora stations through my Sync screen rather than having to change stations on my phone.
If anyone can provide recommendations I'd be most appreciative.
TIA

Working from memory and recovering from surgery so take this with a grain of salt.
I am not sure if this is your issue, but click on the apps selection on the bottom of your screen. Should be an option for authorizing app usage or some such verbiage.

I have this issue "randomly". Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Yesterday, I got in the truck and plugged the iPhone up via USB for the drive home from work. Started cycling through the sources and it would only work on radio or Sirius. Spotify and Pandora wouldn't even show up as a source for me to click. Tried clicking on the USB source that I have a 16GB thumb drive stuck in - nothing. Tried clicking on Bryan's iPhone - Bluetooth - nothing. Tried clicking on Bryan's iPhone - USB - nothing. So basically, I was stuck listening to either radio or Sirius.
Got home, shut the truck down. Restarted it a few minutes later and plugged the phone in and BAM everything works again. Pandora, Spotify, thumb drive, everything.
At this point, it's a crapshoot when I get in the truck as to whether or not it will work.

As mentioned in other forum. I've followed directions provided and still no apps (Spotify or Pandora) seen by Sync. Have also tried master reset and re-paired phone and same result no apps seen.
Just wondering.... Is there any setting I need to change on my iPhone so Sync can see the supported apps I have running?
Also have the new USB port on order which I should be receiving later this month to support apple carplay. Hoping this will resolve my issue and let me change Pandora stations from my Sync / CarPlay screen rather than change stations from my iPhone.
Thanks

rhampar,
iPhones have the following stipulations:
Paired via Bluetooth.
Connected via USB.
The app must be open and running.
It sounds like you have all of the above completed. Just to be clear, when you select SETTINGS (in the feature bar) then MOBILE APPS, you don't see any apps listed there to give permissions? Also, do you have the most recent version of Pandora installed?
SurebutterCringe,
This sounds like a different issue. Which system do you have: owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-technology/all/setup/how-to-identify-your-sync-version.html

Yes I have paired via bluetooth and connected with USB and app is running. Also have ver 7.7 of Pandora app installed on phone. When I select SETTINGS, Mobile Apps there's nothing there.
An interesting phenomenon has come up today. Pandora won't play through usb connected phone. Sync does see the phone connected via usb but when I try to play Pandora this way it tries to connect and play pandora stations via usb but fails. After failure I can't play pandora on bluetooth until I unplug phone then it will play via bluetooth fine.
