Seeking feedback from others out there with Sync 3 whether your able to respond to texts using voice? I could with my 2011 but with Sync 3 I'm only able to listen and no option to reply?!?


Its an odd step back if this is by design. Previously I could listen and respond without taking my eyes off the road and with Sync 3 I have to use the touch screen to listen and then can't respond. Others experiencing the same? (I don't have an iPhone so no siri and no desire to get siri)


I'll add that otherwise I'm really happy with the Sync 3 upgrade. Very fast and responsive. But also only 1 week with it.

 

Sorry can't answer your question. What do you think about screen color? Some complain about it.

 

I noticed the same, I am using an Apple 6 iPhone. I haven't played around with enough though, also notice you can respond with Siri.

 

Ya same problem for me. No way to respond to text!

Along with them sending a very old nav database with sync 3.

And no option to change the amount of preset banks. Also would have been nice to have the next button on radio allow you to switch to the next bank of presets within the same media without having to press the media button!

 

I guess we have some things to look forward with future updates.

 

I don't have an issue with it. Probably wouldn't be my choice if I had one, and would probably change it if the capability existed, but its OK and on a list of Sync 3 priorities the screen color wouldn't be very high for me.

 

Just downloaded today the new update for SYNC and updated Iphone 6 to IOS 9.2. Now if I hold the speak button down for approx. 3 sec. I can speak a text message and I can also have Siri read the message. The phone has to be unlocked and I have to know who sent the message.

Also if I am using bluetooth audio, I can ask for a artist or song to be played.

New to upgrading sync, I have a 2015 lariat/501A, so I don't believe I have sync 3. Is there a way I can speak a text and have Siri read me texts? How to I update the sync, not sure of the process, any help would be great.

 

In the 2016's you should be able to do this without using sync, however as the original poster indicated it doesn't seem possible without using Siri which seems strange.

Note: Apple has never optimized the use to reply via Bluetooth through SYNC. You will have to use Siri Eyes Free.

Have you upgraded SYNC to version 3.8: https://owner.ford.com/tools/account...p-to-date.html The new update added Siri Eyes Free. It allows you to use Siri for most commands.
