After some of the leaked versions of sync v3.0 up until the present version, there are issues when the headlights come on that the screen will switch to the night mode, but the brightness will stay the same as day mode. If you hit the instrument dimmer one click it'll go to where it's supposed to. It doesn't happen in all situations, but I've been able to reproduce it every time when i remote start and it's dark outside. I've updated to the latest version on here (JR3T-14G381-AM) and it still does it.

Before updating to 18093, I could advance to the next song when playing Google music thru Android auto using the steering wheel controls. Now I can only go forward or back from the touch screen. Has anyone else experienced this? I don't remember if 18025 worked or not, or maybe an Android Auto issue - Could someone try & see if it still works?

Hello every body, and greetings from switzerland
I'm new at the forum, sorry I d'ont have a f150, I have a 2016 mustang, but the sync3 problems are the same for all, same errors, same things that just d'ont install.
So I decided to comme to you guys looking for answers, and hopping to help also someone, I have a US mustang in europe, so, that means that the sync3 unit is a NAV with 32GB of memory, and 1GB of ram, that means that the Navigation maps of EU d'ont fit in it, they are too large (12 to 13GB), the other files 2.0,2.2,2.3 and 3.0 all of them are compatibles indeferent if they are US or EU , for the instalation I used a hard disk drive 2 TB, or 16 GB USB drive, ntfs formated, this will allow you to have qwiquer instalations.
From my experience the aplication file on version 3.2 wont install cause its require a 1.5GB of ram, all the sync3 units till the end of 2017 d'ont have that, at least not that I know, I have followed some forums (german french and russian) some guys over there have changed the 3.2 file to fit in ower snc3 units, but they wont share it because the are afraid of wath FORD could do.
So this it is, hope it help someone (sorry for my english)

I run my Mustang on the dimmest setting always (I hate lights in my eyes) and every time I start the car in an area the headlamps turn on immediately the APIM screen stays bright until I click the dimmer up once and back down.
If I start the car in daylight and the headlamps turn on later it acts just fine.

If CarPlay is enabled on the phone, you should get a prompt shortly after plugging the phone in when the data connection is established.
Even without CarPlay the phone should come up as a USB source for music...

Anyway, application 3.2 will not install on current Sync 3 because it require 1.5GB partition size, not RAM.

Ok ist not RAM, but the problem is still the same, you can not upgrade to 3.2 cause there is not enought space.
Ford is realeasing the new 3.2 EU maps that are smaller, cause they are divided in zones, that means , that the ford owners like me that have a US model , could install them on the system, and we could use the gps, but without upggrading that is not possible.
Can anyone help, if not in the forum at leat by MP

I have been reading the Sync 3 V3 upgrade threads and have tried to update my 2016.
i originally tried to follow the instructions from the Sync website. No luck on the update, kept getting the MEM_ERR03 code.
I called the Sync customer assistance line and was told to do a master reset.
i completed the master reset and tried again with no luck.
I called the Sync help line again and they said to contact my dealer.
Last Friday I took my truck to my dealer and the tech said he checked out the system and updated the system to V3.
As I was driving out of the dealer lot, I did a quick system check and it was still V2.2.
Big u-turn back to the dealer. He tried to use his "official" flash drive and got the MEM_ERR03.
I took the truck back again yesterday and the tech tried his flash drive again. No luck.
The tech then swapped the usb module back to the pre-CarPlay module but No Luck.
He then hooked up a CAT5 adaptor to the plug on the back of the usb module to force the download into the truck. No luck.
I picked up my truck tonight and it is still at V2.2.
The dealer has a ticket to Ford Engineering for a solution as well a request for a district service rep to get involved.
My dealer told me he has a 2018 Escape and a new Raptor with the same issues.

Thanks for sharing. My fix is simple and guaranteed to save you any more headache. Go back to the dealer and install it in front of them and charge them for the training session.
Btw, I contacted my local dealer where we buy tons of parts and talked to their service department "sync 3 expert." He said they've never come across the error. I'm calling shenanigans.
