I have a 2016 Lariat with Sycn 3 and navigation. On several occasions the screen will turn black, the boot-up splash screen will come on and the system will restart. The nav portion of the screen will load maps. Basically it acts just as it does when I start the truck.


The radio, climate, etc continues as normal during the reboot.


Has anyone else had this?

WOW!!! I have been going through this on my 15 for over a year but I have a 15 with the 4.3" SYNC. I have been searching for answers for a LONNGGG time. I could not find anyone having this problem. I have been to the dealership 5+ times. I cannot duplicate the problem and neither can they. Finally after a complaint to the service manager they changed out the screen. It has been 2 weeks and it still does it. I give up. I do not know what to do. The Ford Customer Service on here will just ignore you too.

 

When I am hooked up to Bluetooth on a phone call and it reboots, it will come back to a frozen screen and I cant hear the person talking. I have to find my phone and turn off Bluetooth to return to my phone call. In order to fix the frozen screen I have to turn the truck off, open the door, and turn the truck back on.

I've had this happen twice in the past week. Like you said, the radio continues to play during the soft reboot, but not sure what could be causing it. 2016 KR with v2.0, btw.

 

If enough people complain they will have to do something about it. I can tell you it is not the screen. I know these radios are in two or three pieces and the screen is one of them but you can rule that out. It also has nothing to do with the version of my 4.3" as the dealership updated it and reverted back to previous versions. Now seeing it is happening to trucks with the 8" it has to be something internally part wise.

In some cases a message stating -“Initializing BT. Please try again.” may also be displayed when attempting to pair or connect a device.
