Does anyone with information know when SYNC 3 comes out in the F150's?

 

No one knows for sure. Best guess is 2016 model year, but may be later.

 

I hope it's not much later.

 

2016 model. Ford has said recently they plan to have it in every 2016 model. My guess is the 2016 Explorer coming out this summer will be the first vehicle to have it.

 

Someone posted on another thread awhile ago late 2015 ( strictly a rumor though ) but definitely all by the end of 2016.

 

Why is everyone so excited for sync 3? QNX is the company that built the software. Has anyone used a blackberry lately? They are Horrible to use. If any of qnx's ideas made it into this system then it's going to be bad. The GUI will suck and it will have way too many motions to do one certain thing. I personally like the microsoft based sync. Have it in my 13 f350 and my wifes 14 fusion. Will hopefully still have it in my 15 f150 unless it gets upgraded before they build my truck. Do any of you remember the sync mytouch gen1? I bet everyone who had it wanted to smash it. I believe thats how sync 3 will be. Maybe sync 4 in a couple years will straighten that out.

 

I'm one of those who had the first gen. SYNC and it was the reason we got rid of the car My wife liked the Edge but the dealer couldn't fix it and I cut my losses before the warranty expired. I know there is supposed to be improved since the first generation but... Thats why I'm looking forward to SYNC 3.

 

Have you seen the demos? Looks 1000 times better.

 

You can't compare QNX on a Blackberry to vehicles. QNX is running the majority of systems on vehicles today. It's way better compared to the flash lite crap Ford is using on the Microsoft based Sync. Sync 3 is going to be so much better than the current Sync. It's too bad 2015 F-150 owners don't have the option to upgrade.

 

^^ I can't believe they don't give us the chance to upgrade. Not asking for a discount...just the option to even do so. It's mind-boggling
