That's the root cause of the majority of issues seen in MFT.
That's true, Sync 2 will always be limited because it was created using as the main interface Adobe Flash Lite 3.1 - which is designed for lower resource usage. That's 2010 technology there BTW and, no, there hasn't been any real updates since. What's worse is Ford tried to save money and used a small 3rd party company to do the initial programming instead of Microsoft. So it's a severely under-powered system programmed by people who were in way over their heads. It's why all sorts of promised features never materialized with Sync 2 like AppLink.

To those that equate the operation of Blackberry phones with the suitability of the QNX operating system to mobile infotainment, I can only shake my head.

That 3rd party company did a terrible job with MFT. Ford did a much better job when they did it in house. It is frustrating we will never see AppLink. Ford has been promising that ever since I got my Explorer in 2012. I hope Ford changes their mind with allowing upgrades to Sync 3.

I agree 100% with this. I usually don't even bother replying as it's obvious they don't know what they are talking about and it would be a waste of time trying to explain/argue it.

Also adding this little bit of new news on Sync 3.

I just traded in a BMW for my 2015 plat and I find the current version of sync to be awesome. It's very well laid out and super easy to use. The only thing worse than the BMW is the graphics on the NAV. That isn't an issue for me because I never use the car's NAV anyway. I use my iPhone.

I agree, both my 2011 and 2013 have worked very well.
