Sync 3
You can't compare the two. It's just like Microsoft. The software that runs MFT is completely different than the Microsoft OS for computers. I don't like Blackberry phones, but the QNX OS in vehicles is a good OS. MFT is much better now, but it's mind boggling why they made the MFT software with flash. That's the root cause of the majority of issues seen in MFT.
To those that equate the operation of Blackberry phones with the suitability of the QNX operating system to mobile infotainment, I can only shake my head.
That's true, Sync 2 will always be limited because it was created using as the main interface Adobe Flash Lite 3.1 - which is designed for lower resource usage. That's 2010 technology there BTW and, no, there hasn't been any real updates since. What's worse is Ford tried to save money and used a small 3rd party company to do the initial programming instead of Microsoft. So it's a severely under-powered system programmed by people who were in way over their heads. It's why all sorts of promised features never materialized with Sync 2 like AppLink.

Also adding this little bit of new news on Sync 3.

I just traded in a BMW for my 2015 plat and I find the current version of sync to be awesome. It's very well laid out and super easy to use. The only thing worse than the BMW is the graphics on the NAV. That isn't an issue for me because I never use the car's NAV anyway. I use my iPhone.
