Default Sync 3.4 update

so the other day I get into my truck and go for a drive. My sync background is all new and updated. I look up the software version and it says 3.4 I have a 2019 xlt. I believe it may have updated over the air since my truck was hooked up to my parents wifi. Anyone else have the new update?

Yes, thousands of individuals have Sync 3.4. It is not anything new as 2020 trucks were shipped with it. The 2019's 3.3 update to 3.4 was released back in March or April. Most wont notice it until its updated over air, or if they search on Ford's website.
FYI for anybody needing the update, do it by USB and not over the air, it will save you a headache.

Mine did and it's screwed up. I just got off a chat with Ford and they instructed me to do a reset and then turn off automatic upgrades. It did not help at all, so I guess a trip to the stealership is in my future.

The rep said they are having LOTS of trouble with over-the-air upgrades.

Crossing fingers here, over the air update and no issues, been 2 weeks I do like having 18 radio presets with the upgrade.

Adding my experience in here for documentary purposes.

Sync did a WiFi OTA update last night for me.

Got in the truck and had a black screen, no radio, or anything accessible other than climate. Restarted truck a couple times without success.

Gave up, started driving home and remembered the reset trick. (while I was driving, do not recommend) Held down power and fast forward for fifteen seconds and saw the Ford logo come up, unit booted into 3.4.

Background looked weird, and manually set a wallpaper through the settings menu.
Maps reported no GPS.
Restarted again using same power and fast forward button trick, unit came right back up a few minutes later with GPS and maps and was fully functional but had forgotten the background setting (and ambient light). Set those manually and have been fine ever since.

Mine did it via OTA, not sure when but sometime last week. I first noticed because I getting XM radio ads...it seemed to have defaulted to XM. It seems fine.
Still wish I could have Carplay with the option to use the internal navigation. My other vehicles allow that, but I really want it for the truck for when there is no cellular.

Are there any new features of 3.4 vs 3.3?

Mine did the other day, aside from changing my background color all seems well. I wish they made it so texting was via bluetooth and not having to plug in.

Only 2019 and above that come from the factory with 3.2 or higher will receive the update.
