I already did the system "master reset" which wasn't a biggie for me as I didn't have any special locations saved and all I had to do was re-sync my nexus 6P
What I am trying to find out is where in my 8" MFT system menu will I find the map version as mentioned above by the OP tmcolegr?

ME: I was wondering since I bought a new 2015 F-150 on December 17th that came with a A6 map if I would get a new map update for free or would have to pay full price for the update?

Ford: Thank you for contacting us. Yes you would have to purchase the update we have the new A7 available at $149 plus tax and shipping.

ME: No Thanks, I was hoping that since the vehicle was purchased new one and a half months ago that I would get a free update or a discount.

Ford: I apoogize for the inconvenience We may havee a promotion later on for free shipping but that is about it. I would speak to your dealer to see i there is anything they can do for you.

 

I'm almost in the same boat as you. Bought mine on thanksgiving. Kind of shi@tty that they wouldn't give us an upgrade. And they wonder why people pirate these kind of things.

 

I bought my truck used with no navigation card in SD slot. Will my system see navigation card when I'd buy one and put it in? 2015 sync2 with 8" screen. So far I use mobile app to send directions to truck. It does work pretty good

 

Hi eelect,

If the top right quadrant of your MFT screen says INFORMATION, your vehicle is not equipped with navigation and will not be able to read the map data. If that quadrant says, PLEASE INSERT VALID SD CARD then you're good to go!

Thanks Whitney. It has the information tab on top. It's also not capable of pulling weather from serius radio too. Talked to ford sync couple days ago and they told me to see if dealer might upgrade race for me. Ever heard anyone do this?

 

You're welcome. Have you checked with Sirius to ensure you have the Travel Link package which adds that information? I would start there.

If you don't currently have Sirius on your vehicle, the dealership is in the best position to assist you.

I did talk to serius about the app link and they told me radio is not compatible. That's how it went. Ford sync didn't as I previously mentioned
