Speedometer calibration
I was just wondering what you guys were doing about getting your speedometers recalibrated after you put bigger tires on I have 35's on the way at my dealership told me they didn't think it was possible to calibrate for a tire that big. Is there another route I can go I figure there will be more options as time goes by.
I am wondering the same thing ecatrx450. I've talked to a dealer that does leveling kits plus larger tires and he says they are calibrated and good to go before sold. Others on here have said their dealer didn't have the info to do it yet.

To adjust for non-standard OEM sizes an aftermarket turner (e.g. SCT) would be necessary.
FoMoCo IDS, OEM sizes ...

Not necessarily...Dealer can adjust to largest tire size, and also tweak the gear ratio to compensate for 35" tires. Takes some road testing with a GPS, but we are always able to get it 100%.

May be (?) doable, HOWEVER, very few dealerships are willing to futz with, commit tech' time, and have GPS facilities for time consuming road testing/experimentation when the outcome is questionable (at best).
And this would all be *free*, correct?

I agree. The local dealers here in the Austin area won't do it. They say the tires are too big and they can't make the adjustments due to the size...I have 35s" as well. I guess they are lazy here. So I said h*** with it and calibrated and supped her up with a custom 5 star tune. BAM!!!
