single "clunk" when starting the engine
If I start the Truck and go shift directly into reverse, it'll clunk every once in a while.
If I tap the throttle and let it settle down before before I shift into reverse, it never happens.
EDIT: Whoops this is just for the start - which I haven't had the Clunk. Mine is the more typical (?) when I put it in gear.

Surprisingly my 2019 3.5 pretty much stopped doing it after several thousand miles. Kind of funny though it’s in the shop for other unrelated things and the rental they gave me as a 2019 3.5 eco-boost as well but it has the Start a clunk big time, the truck even lurches forward a little bit
2019 f-150 Lariot 10 spd v-8. I really wanna just cry right now because I’ve been down the warranty road, and the BBB road on a previous vehicle and I know how stressful it is. I heard the notorious clunk on my brand new 60k dollar vehicle and it didn’t take long to find this thread. Reybeast (or anyone else), if you have any luck with a lawyer let me know and I’ll certainly pass along my documentation of this issue. I’m taking it in for it’s first service in another couple thousand miles and will be sure to document their response on the issue. My only hope is that I’ll be ready to trade it in BEFORE this beast of a tranny fails, or that we can make some headway together as a community, and Ford issues some form of recall or software update. Ok I think I’m done crying now 😅
I have had my truck in the dealer 2 times already for the shifting issue from 3 to 4 and it seems to be getting worse. Not to mention the clunk and transmission slipping.
My truck has 18,000 miles on it and I have contacted Ford Corporate to make them aware a Lemon process might be fourth coming. They have been extremely helpful so far and we are going to start the process of possibly a buy back if they can’t fix it.
This might be an issue that is common but I’m not interested in living with it.
I will keep everyone posted to my findings throughout this process.

What was the outcome as mine has 19,800 miles on it and is making this noise 50 percent of the time. If it made it before buying I would not have purchased it but it only started a couple of days ago, 9 days after buying it used with 19,300 miles on it and only 8 months in service (first owner).
If I had a '19 5.0, I'd be more worried about oil consumption than the intermittent clunk.
Drove a 2020 loaner 3.5 eco 10 spd tranny, same clunk. Those of you who think its not going to be a problem long term are full of it. Clunks like this cause problems in the long run, and we the customers have to pay for it. Ask the Ford Focus and Fiesta owners that had problems and Ford told them its normal too. They won a massive law suit.
We are friends with techs and management at our local dealer. It's a high volume truck dealer. No problems yet. Keep in mind that people have well over 100,000 miles on these 10-speeds now since many are fleet use and get abused. None have had an issue related to the clunk.
Not that these trucks are perfect. TONS of issues. Just nothing clunk related...yet. Maybe we'll see something when they start reaching a lot of miles. We'll see.
I agree that I don't like the sound and it shouldn't make the noise.

Agreed, shouldn't make that noise, and as a company, Ford should at least be intrested in trying to figure out why many of these 10 spd trannys make this noise. Instead what I'm told and is documented on my invoice "Service Manager drove a 2020, heard same clunk, noise is normal". Wrong.
