I cannot seem to find a way to replicate this clunk at any time. Still seems totally random.

Mine happens on hot starts. When it’s colt it won’t do it.

Not sure how many miles you have on your rig, but I have only 5300 miles. Mine used to only do it on warm/hot starts but now sometimes does it on first crank up of the day. It’s Ok though. The local dealer said it’s a “normal characteristic of the truck.”

4,700 and no, it’s not ok. If you believe your driveshaft jerking and banging on start up is normal, I believe you’ve never driven another vehicle in your life. This is able to be fixed. It’s a matter of Ford getting off their *** and fixing it. I believe this has something to do with reprogramming how the valve body interacts inside the trans or a valve body redesign, since Ford states it has to do with how many clutch packs are engaged during start up.

That was pure sarcasm. Of course it’s not ok.

When properly executed, sarcasm is missed by the recipient at least 50% of the time. Good job!

This is true. Sorry, been dealing with this months now and I’m...irritable.

It's just one of those things. Sucks to miss sarcasm and funny as hell when you see someone else do it. Still, better to laugh at this than argue over who is or isn't a troll.

Hey guys. Bought my 60K pos that clicks during start up 2 months ago. My dealers service dept stated this was normal too. Funny how Ford has pushed this BS out. I tried to trade out of it to go to a 250 and ha. Even the GM has been brainwashed to say it’s just what a 10 speed does. Absolutely sickening to be going through this. I’m not sure what can be done but I sure would like for Ford to take a PR beating over this.

My 2018 XLT does this and I have posted a video on this thread. I took mine in today and the service manager was stumped they are looking into it.
I was wondering if it has something to do with the auto start stop. It seems something would have to be different in the drivetrain to keep the transmission engaged while the engine is off and restarting.
