Default Should I pull the trigger?

Msrp $53,000. Has me in a 12/36 lease at $459 (with 6% tax) with $717 down. I dont know the breakdown as of now but I'm going to shoot for $436.

A month ago they quoted me $686 a month for 10/36 on the same truck.

you only have to put $717 down? Most of the leases I have seen, you have to put 10% down or like $4000 That is a good monthly payment for the truck, but do you plan to buy it after the lease is over? I hate to invest money in something I cannot later own- Although the last 2 trucks I had loans on, I sold within 3 years soo... but I didn't have to worry about over mileage

I personally can't lease- I drive too many miles.

Yup or finance it for about $25k for 3 years. You my friend can spend the extra $8k to "say" you own it. My current F150 is 30months old.

How much if any equity did you have after your 3 year term?

Not shooting you down, just proving a point to the other poster who thinks leases are a waste of money

The last two I bought were used, and when I traded them in they were both over 10 years old. When I traded my '03 Sierra in, I owed like $5000 on it, and they gave me $4500 in trade, when I traded my avalanche in for the F150, I owed $5800 and they gave me $5000 in trade- This is the first new truck I have owned, I don't plan on selling it, and once my Wifes Kia is paid off, I will bump up my monthly payments to keep ahead of them.

I think of equity in vehicles as how much do I owe versus how much is it worth- So when I bought this truck, I put $3000 cash down, Which was really only $2200 as I had to pay the difference of the loan on the Avy, so I borrowed about $34k (incl tax title tags etc) on a truck that is worth about $37 from a dealer. Now if I traded it in, I would probably only get $32 for it, but as I pay it down, I think I will be about even on what its worth versus what I owe. Maybe my logic is skewed...

Depends what you think a waste of your money is... you spend $17K on a truck then give it back.. not for me.. I like to keep my trucks for 10 or so years but, then again I pay cash.

We leased a vehicle once for my wife, it made sense for her because she doesn't drive much. For me it wouldn't work because I drive a lot more and would end up paying the mileage penalty.

Self righteous much? Your way isn't the best way for everyone. His money, his choice.
