Here we go again with bashing leases... Guys please help the man understand the price of the truck NOT how he pays for it...

You need to look at all the numbers and not the payment. They can hide fees in that you don't realize. I leased several Fords from them and it can get to be sneaky what the fees end up.

Also are they rolling the remaining payments in on your current lease?

I wasn't bashing at all, just making light of the situation about paying cash for a car. If leasing works for him awesome, if buying is better than great. He knows his finances and what works for him and what doesn't, far be it from me to judge how he acquires the truck.
But I do agree you need to be careful with leases because they can have some quirks that don't work in the persons favor as far as extra fees.

Heck if the mileage cap is no concern leasing is always going to be the best way to afford a nicer car than you could normally afford as lease payments are always lower than purchase payments due to amortized equity over a set time.

Please, let's not make this lease vs. finance vs. pay cash.

OP, that sounds to me like a GREAT deal. I say go for it. Enjoy that beautiful truck!

Do what makes you feel good, and what ever works out better for YOU! This lease vs buy debate is getting old.

I used to buy. I got tired of losing equity and losing my *** when I got ready to trade for a new vehicle.

I lease now an couldn't be happier!

I think Lonewolf asked a good question. How many miles do you drive in a year. If you are driving 20k miles a year then you are going to owe a lot of money when you return the vehicle after three years, but if you are like me and retired it would probably be a good choice because I've had my 16 since the beginning of February and I just hit 4K miles on her. Also do you have a business that you can write this expense off on?

My current lease is 15k a year, i have 5 payments left and have 26,570miles. Wasted money.

On the other note I owe $27,300, i dont know what they are allowing on paper but verbally said $31k

So for those that dont understand leases, there're not renting.. I still own my truck and have equity in under 3 years..

For those who keep vehicles I wouldnt suggest a lease but those who like new technology, why go any other way.. You have a set buyout price no matter if you are 10k miles above or below your paid mileage.. UNLESS you just had your keys over at the end of the term.

I will post real numbers and FEES when its signed. I priced leases on XLT and Lariats at 5 dealers in the last 3 months, so far this is the best number I've seen.

Msrp $52645
Sale price $48424.97
Acquisition fee $645
Doc fee $75
Title fee $33
Registration fee $129.85
FL fee $13
Upfront taxes $390.78

Rebates $1,500

This is what confuses me
Cap reduction $6,500
But i was only $800 out of pocket
Doesnt show what they allowed on my trade since it was a lease

MF (rent charge) $5616.58
Residual $32,570

Ok, I call b.s. on the thread title. Any reference to 'pulling the trigger' better be about guns...I was jonesing for good gun discussion and got something about leases. lol/jk

If the lease payment seems fair to you and makes you happy, just do it. You can study the numbers for weeks and still find something slightly better the minute after you sign the deal. Just have fun with it, do your homework but don't stress over every $1.
