Default Shocks again.....

I am going to be towing a camper soon. I don't off road. Is there and difference between the bilstein 4600 and rancho rs5000?
I have read that both finishes wear off pretty quick.
Just looking for a better rider and stability.

"I don't off road."

That has very little to do with the choices. So you can drop that concept first. The big first question is how much are you willing to spend. Once past OEM and their sometime upgraded replacements you get to an area where price drives quality and ability. Worried about the finish wear, upgrade to aluminum body shocks. Lots of 2.0 aluminum body shocks are available. Large tube, 2.5 inch+ shocks (what many consider race/off road), can and do offer very good on-road stability, feel, ride. They are more expensive though but with obvious high quality. KM

That is why I am asking...I don't know. I am not afraid to spend ...if it's worth it. You see Monroe shocks for 30 bucks. Pretty sure they are not going to do what I want.
I looked at the Fox 2.0 I don't see how the exposed shaft is going to hold up with winter driving.
If I am going to have to replace the 4600 or rs5000 after a few years, then maybe spending more is warranted.
I have the 8 foot bed....the rear needs help....lol

You can get boots or shields for the Fox 2.0's. I leave my shocks exposed and get little to no corrosion, I do wash the truck regularly in the winter. I have hear of using bicycle inner tubes cut lengthwise and clamped to shock bodies to prevent damage.
Aluminum bodied Bilsteins, Fox, Icon, Eibach, and other brands can be found from $100 each on up to thousand + bucks. I value the handling and ride benefits and went the $$$$ route on Icon 2.5's with adjustable external valving and consider them worth every penny involved, but that is why I spent a minimum on the truck I ordered 4 years ago. Even with the expensive suspension and other upgrades I am still well within my $40000 budget. KM

If you're just moving from stock to a much better shock then just try the Bilstein 5100's, Worlds better than stock and only about $100 a shock at all 4 corners....

I tow a 7000 lb camper with the OEM shocks without any issues. I don't think it's a necessity to get new shocks.

Look into putting a set of RoadMaster active suspension (RAS) on your truck as you add weight to the bed the (RAS) becomes well active

I agree, on OPs 2019, no need for better shocks, get a decent WDH and set it up correctly. I can't believe the stuff I see in campgrounds setup incorrectly, their stuff has to tow bad.

Yep, a properly setup WDH is all you need. I see many pickups riding low in the rear with campers. Must handle and ride horribly. No need for airbags, shocks or LT tires.
