Yes. I put on 0.66" taller tires, hit the side of the running board for about a week. Lifted the front 1.75" a few months later, tapping the side again for a few weeks. Lifted the rear 1.00" three weeks later, ugh, another week of making that stupid running board sing.
It was a sign to me that I should probably lower it a bit, I'm no spring chicken. The wife would certainly like an easier step.
I get the whole clearance thing, but a running board being just 3" below the threshold is... not a whole lot of help. With trucks getting taller, I think it's about time for the manual boards to be spring loaded in the full size trucks. No, I don't want the weight or complexity of power boards.
