May be going in to get a Platinum tomorrow, need some help understanding how some of you are getting the discounts you are getting.. Some are saying that I should expect around 15k off on a platinum, but where are those numbers coming from?

Here is their offer, in Houston, TX if it matters.
MSRP - 62,810
Rebate - 1500
Dealer Discount - 8330
Total - 52980
Invoice is claimed to be 57k

Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

13k-14k is about the max only on xlt package. That's not a bad deal for a platinum. Might be 1-2k left on the table there.

People lie on threads like this all the time, across all forums, to show how good they wish they were at negotiating.

they don't discount plat as much as XLT/Lariats, i think the deal the OP got is pretty decent for a plat.

When I bought mine, all the incentives/discounts were on the XLT. I got an E-mail from Ford offering $10,500 off the XLT's.

I thought I got a great discount on around 10k down with incentives on an XLT. They weren't offering big deals on any other package. I also know some people did better than I did, but it isn't the end of the world for me, I'll try harder next time.

You can always try to push a little more but I would say if everyone is pretty happy with the deal but each side feels like they could have done a little better then it's a good deal.

15k off a fully loaded Platinum in Canada is easily done during the employee discount program. Not sure about getting 15k off in the US.
