Although the center seat is the safest place, it is NOT permitted to use the latch system in that seat. Meaning you can't use the inboard latch from the side seats for the center position. it is started clearly and in bold print in the owners manual. to use the center seat for a car seat, the seatbelts need to be used.

As for the original poster, is it possible the seat want fully latched? I know if the seat was moved, say for car seat installation, and a person didn't sit in it, it may not have clicked into a locked position. If it's electric, then I don't know.

Was the bolt in the seat check during recall?

Well appraiser came by and just said for the dealership to advise on repairs for the seat.

As to the recall we only had the one in Canada for the door latches so will just have to play the waiting game until the dealer sees it.

A little inconvenience is well worth the extra safety for the little one. Been there, done that.
This is why it's good to get the windows tinted, because they hold the glass together in the event of a crash. I could have swore when I read the manual after getting the truck that you aren't supposed to use the latches for the center of the seat. The latches are to only be used for the left or right. A seatbelt must be used for a center seat carseat.

Make sure the insurance replace's the baby seat as well. Once it is in an accident whether someone is in it or not, it should be replaced.

Could use them both, seat anchors from left and right side as well as the seatbelt. That'll keep it snug

I'm surprised the seat recall didn't make it to Canadian trucks. In my opinion, this was one of the most serious defects of these trucks to date. It wasn't just happening in collisions, from what I remember, any jolt could've cause them to recline.

My carseat specifically says not to do that. You guys need to do your own homework on a device that is designed to save the life of your child. I'd hate for something bad to happen because it was improperly installed.

I wonder why it would be ok to use one or the other, but not both. Know what I mean?

Do you have a copy of the recall or a number I could pass to the dealer that would have technical specs on what was supposed to be checked and replaced?
