Default Reverse lights

i have read a bunch of threads on upgrading the rear reverse lights... all of them are LED bulbs, many of the have the typical led issues where they might be bright straight on, but have blind spots. The “best” reviewed LEDs were like $90, no thanks.

are there any standard bulbs you can buy that are brighter than oem?
i don’t need them to look cool,I don’t really care about LEDs, I just want better light performance than stock.

Reality is, the housings are so small that you could put miniature suns in there, and the pattern and thus view would still suck. If you really want to add illumination in the right places, you should consider some dedicated reverse lights (Rigid, etc.)

yea, I saw many different options on adding additional lights in or under the bumper, that is not something I prefer to do.

even with the small housing, I’d think there should be another standard halogen non-led bulb that would be a little brighter than stock, no?

I have some
cheap ones from Amazon cheap ones from Amazon
in some after market LED fixtures. There is no comparison between them and the OE, the backup camera at night was horrible with the OEs, with these it's pretty darn good and I have no complaints.

I used these from Amazon and they are much brighter than stock lamps, reasonable price too so if they don't last it won't be that bad.

If you have Bliss, there really is no other option but to go external. I'm in the process of installing some Rigids.

No BLIS. Standard non-led, non-blis XLT taillights.

are LEDs the only option?
all the bulbs you guys posted are LEDs, and while “bright” they have blind spots in them since they point directly back. I have no experience with this, but that is what many of the bulb reviews I’ve read say.

Would these fit standard tails?

...are LEDs really my only option?
no brighter halogen bulbs?

2015-2017 Yes...2018 No...I modified the sockets on my truck to 15-17 sockets.
