Is that all there is to it? Also, I have never used Forscan, how friendly is the interface?
You also need to rewire/transplant your old harness connector for the power door locks, since the Lariat+ harnesses have memory and your XLT doesnt.
Thats detailed in the thread, I posted the question and someone posted pictures of the harness with the pins in question.

Rereading the rest of the thread, looks like I am gonna have to run wires from lariat harness to the power source. I would think it would be easier for Ford to have one harness instead of one per trim level. But I guess the thousands of feet of wire that they don't install would probably save a lot of cash in the long run... just makes it harder for us tinkerers!!!

So far this is all I know. Once the conversion is complete and working I will post everything needed. The dealer is being open to what is being done.

That's all I have to date and the harnesses are on order. I'll be more convinced when the installation is complete and working.

The mirrors I have on the truck ( that the dealer already installed are FL3Z 17682 AD and FL3Z 17683 AD. These are full power with spots and power fold and power extend. ) They are leaving these on, due to costs but not hooking up the power fold and extend. I presently have purchased the door switch needed for the power fold and extend option (fl3z 14529 ca) and once the mirror is functional I'm going to attempt to get power to the fold and extend pins and see what I can do.

The parts numbers for the spot lights are.....
spotlight switch----fl3z 13d730 ea
spotlight module---fu5z 13c788 a
dash vent trim which holds switch ford spotlight----fl3z 1504339 db

I know the power extend and fold need modules programmed/ flashed in order to tie them into the computer but that is where the dealer draws the line. They say that it can cause issues and void warrantee. They won't do this.

The door module part numbers are....dg9z 14b291 vj and dg9z 14b291 vk

FL3Z 14630 E
Spotlight Switch: FL3Z 14529 CA
Spotlight Module: FL3Z 13D730 EA
Spotlight Vent trim: FL3Z 1504339 DB

Mirror switch: FL3Z 14529 BA, this is to include power telescoping

I have a question for the following:
Modules: DG9Z 14B29 VJ (VK) These come up as ford edge parts, are these correct for the f150? Also, will these work for the power fold & telescoping?

I appreciate all the insight so far.
In these 2 posts the part #s for the Spotlight modules are different. Which is the correct part #?

I believe the FL3Z 14529 CA is actually a window switch

The AC trailer tow mirrors that come on the std XLT pkg, are not auto dimming (driver's side only). The driver's side non trailer tow mirror on the XLT 302A is auto dimming. When you install the AC mirrors on the XLT you loose the auto dimming feature on the driver's side mirror.

However the AD Lariat mirrors, include Power fold & extend and the driver's side mirror is auto dimming. I am not intending on all the additional work required to have power fold & extend. If I install the AD mirrors along with the 22 pin door XLT door harnesses on my XLT 302A, do I retain the auto dimming feature?

I am certainly not questioning what you've stated as you obviously are more knowledgeable on this than I am. However I have read several threads on this exact issue (spotlight switch & module installed), but the spotlights still don't function. Only after performing the mod to the wiring harness at the spotlight module to have the spotlights run above 5 mph do the spotlights work without some type of BCM as-built change or perhaps just enabling the spotlight feature.

Can you or anyone else confirm?

There is currently no known way through BCM to allow spotlights to run above 5mph. The only settings currently known are enabled/disabled. All I meant above was that all the VINs I've looked at for every trim package already has this BCM value set at enabled. Sorry for any confusion I caused.

No fault of yours, I am the one that is trying to understand how the spotlights would be enabled on an XLT vehicle that doesn't currently have factory installed spotlights. I am sure I am making this far more difficult than it needs to be.

I am not necessarily concerned about having the spotlights work above 5 mph. If I install the AD mirrors, 22 pin XLT door harnesses, spot lamp switch & module, will the spot lamps work at all without reprogramming the BCM with as built data from another VIN# that had factory installed spotlights and/or go into the BCM and enable the spotlight? Or even after installing all the new parts will I need to perform the modification so the spot lamps work above 5 mph just to have them work at any speed since my truck never had factory installed spot lamps?

Please advise

Can anyone explain why the AD (Lariat w/power fold & telescope and w/auto dim) mirrors are less $$$ than the AC (XLT wo/power fold & telescope and no auto dim) mirrors?

From what everyone has stated, the AD mirrors will work on the XLT as long as you have the XLT 22 pin door harnesses. Why would anyone install AC mirrors on an XLT? Even if you don't need or want the features of the AD mirrors, they are less $$$ and will do everything the AC mirrors will do?

Anyone? Am I missing something?

You shouldn't need to make any changes to the BCM values to get the spotlight to work (below 5mph); every model already has the necessary value set at enabled from the factory.

Once I found the address & value that controls the spot light being enabled/disabled I then plugged in many VIN #'s representing all the trim packages at https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt which allowed me to see the what the BCM value for spotlights these trucks shipped with from the factory and they all ship with this BCM value set at enabled.

Could I impose on you to check my VIN - 1FTEW1EF9FKD13374

Also do you know what it takes to enable the puddle lamps?
