Default Remove stereo and climate control *****?

Anyone know how to do it? Nothing on the internet or in this forum that I've found. Don't want to remove the whole stereo or face plate, just want to pull the ***** for an idea I had.

Crutchfield shows it. Use trim tools and just snaps off and on.

Thanks. Got a link or something? I'm striking out. I thought they might just pop off, but didn't want to break anything.

Nevermind. Looks like they are held on from behind by torx screws according to this thread: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/ac-ra...331397/index6/

I was wanting to just pull the ***** without removing the whole faceplate. The entire faceplate is held on with 2 screws and some clips. In order to remove the *****, you have to pull the faceplate off, which was my original question.

Te 2 screws at the top are not torx. They are 7mm hex heads according to the post I linked to.

The ***** are held in by the bezel. You have to remove the bezel, the back cover over the controls and the circuit board to remove the *****.

The back cover and circuit boards are held in by torx screws.

Default How to remove f150 2012 *****

Sorry about late post to the thread but I’m wanting to remove and replace my fan and heat *****. I looked it over and don’t see hex or torks on the *****.

is there a video out that shows how to do it?

You have to take the center console trim panel off. The trim panel, a/c, and radio controls come out as one assembly. From there, you have to remove 8 torx screws for the radio control board and (I think) 8 torx screws for the a/c control board. Then the assembly comes apart. But, you won't be able to just swap the *****. The ***** are not a shaft, they are held in place by the lighting bezel that surrounds them.
