Default Rate the SYNC 3 Navigation

I've seen a lot of mixed feelings on the sync 3 navigation system, but I think it's better than most factory navs.

How would you rate the sync 3 nav?

It needs a Home button on every screen. It is clumsy to have to back out of menus before getting to a screen with a Home button.

I voted "OK"... only because I don't know what other current "factory" systems are like. (I didn't compare them, because that was irrelevant to my decision in which vehicle I would buy.

So with that said...

it's more advanced than the (same size) system in my 2003 4Runner. I've used it multiple times since I bought my truck, and find it easy to use. I like that it is integrated with Sirius for traffic. Seems to be pretty similar to my Magellan that I bout to use in my S2000 a few years ago.

Are there "better" ones out there? Maybe, but I'm perfectly satisfied with mine.
I much prefer a "built-in system" (sine I have both)... I absolutely hate all the suction cup crap that bounces and doesn't stay on. I refer to the navigation system often, even when I don't have an destination address inputed. (i often just refer to the map for a variety of reasons. I haven't looked to see how to zoom in and out for scale... on the 4 Runner the setting is right there all the time.

Only issue I have with mine is the map needs to have an update on current points of interest.

What i've noticed between this and last model nav the most is how fast the processor is using the voice commands. It also seems to pick up what you are saying a lot better. There is something to be said for that since i speak Texan, y'all. It acts a little quirky in some spots. Made me exit to another freeway, uturn, then get back on the original freeway again. That was a bit frustrating, but i have since learned to zoom out to look at the over all route to make sure that doesn't happen any more.

From a strictly visual standpoint. Not a fan. I like the ability to customize the backround. l'll keep the Sync 2, quadscreen.

It's Ok

Haven't had factory nav in that many vehicles to compare to, but it's definitely better than Siri and Apple Maps

Well I messed up your poll. My tablet misfired when I touch the vote button and this system won't let you fix it. I was trying to vote "better than most". It moved to worst the moment I voted.

Anyway, I just drove from Michigan to Florida and I decided I would just follow directions regardless if I thought they were wrong. It was dead on. Better than the Ram I just traded that I would have to override at times.

This is not a boast....I've driven and used many of the current OEM systems.....frankly imho the BMW is best for my personal taste......and I prefer Sync2/Nav quadrant type to the new Sync3....because my iPhone music completely resets to the entire music library (and not the playlist I was using) every time I shut down the truck. This should be an easy fix but Ford Customer Service told me this is normal - - it may be normal for them but it is certainly not desirable. I had previously thought that I would replace my car with a new Lincoln or Continental......not going to happen!
