Ram Chevy forums
My intent wasn't meant to bash Toyota, it was meant as a back handed compliment. Toyota makes excellent, solid and reliable vehicles. That said, IMO, about as exciting as bringing a new fridge home. Being the #1/#2 auto manufacturer in the world, is evidence that a lot of people like that refrigerator excitement.

And lets not forget, the common thread of some of the worst driving I've ever witnessed.....usually involves a prius.

When I started seeing the light and began posting about F150 features, people would chime in and say "how useless a big display and bluetooth is" lol wut? Why bother having air conditioning then?!
I owned my 2015 tundra blissfully unaware, until I got in a 2018 KR. It was at that moment, I went from Tundra indifference to resentment.
They also love to tout "resale value". In my experience, trading in my Tundra, its resale was not much higher than a similarly equipped F150, certainly not by a life changing amount that they are eager to crack it up to be.

Chevy trucks haven’t looked good since 2006 IMO. The fender wells killed the appearance of the previous two generations, the ones on the ‘07-‘13 gen had those unsightly bulges and the ones on the ‘14-‘18/‘19 LD gen were too square. They fixed the fender wells on the current generation, but hit the rest of the truck with the ugly stick. The new HD Chevy’s are particularly hideous.
I currently drive/own a '17 Tundra, your basic sr5 4x4. Yet here I am on a Ford forum, I visit Rams/Silverado's/Tundra's as well.
No brand loyalty on my part, just like trucks.
I'm looking to trade in at some point & time & like mentioned above the Tundra is dated, ****ty gas milage, lack of creature comforts etc.. Stuff I wish I had.
But daggum- I've had NO issues with it in damn near 4 yrs having it. That "reliabilty" is hard to part with when you read/hear all these issues other trucks have etc
Even had co workers saying your an idiot for trading for whatever...You're down grading one guy told me & this dude has a Lariat. Lol.
Went after hrs & looked at a left over '19 Raptor...big mistake. I want it.....wallet does not..
73k msrp asking 67....& I have some equity.

I owned my 15 for 5 years. It was the most boring vehicle I've ever owned (good & bad). Just gotta get over the reliability part of switching brands, if you can afford to. Buy the biggest ESP you can, first day rental coverage, and jump. It was no longer worth it to me to drive the most prehistoric "limited" trim pickup in the market for the sole reason of reliability.

Most vehicles built these days are fine. Unless it is a very widely known problem child specific platform etc, buy on what matters to you between safety, performance, features, appearance, pricing, etc. And then stay up on fluid changes
My F-150 is my first American vehicle and the only one I've ever gotten an extended warranty for, so obviously I had concerns about reliability. Would've been in a Tundra if it wasn't for the horrible gas mileage and the interior. However, in 4 years my F-150 has been as in the shop for a warranty repair only once, just as trouble free as any of my Hondas. In fact my girlfriend has a 2018 Camry and it's been in the shop 5 times for infotainment issues and a problem with the remote start not working in freezing temperatures. The remote start issue is still unresolved. This is her family's 5th Toyota and the only one to have problems so that proves that even Toyota sometimes has a bad apple.
I can also say that I enjoy driving the F-150 and I don't say think I would've said the same about the Tundra.
