Once I did that I was able to turn up the volume because I was no longer getting false alarms every 10 minutes. Unless you turn off X and K, you will subconsciously begin to tune out the warnings because almost all of them are false alarms. Then you turn down the volume and a month from now when you get a legit warning you ignore it and get a ticket.

Second advantage is that V1 tells you which direction the signal is coming from. I can't believe they are STILL the only company with this capability.

Third is the awesome customer service. You can take any V1 detector of any age and send it in to be updated to the latest technology. The cases may look the same as 25 years ago but the programming is state of the art.

On the highway I get warnings over a mile away and in the city I still get a half mile of advance notice. Just be wary of the 'instant on' tricks. You can't ignore just a single, apparently random alert. It might not be so random.
K is used in small towns around here with no signs of stopping.
And the Max 360 has had directional arrows for years...it’s literally in the name. lol

Yea...no. lol
The higher end Escort models are on par or better with detection and blow Valentine away on features. The V1 is outdated and outclassed.

Its small and it works...that’s all I really needed. It works flawlessly with the app.

Make your own mount for a couple a bucks and save some money. My Radar id mounted on my own mount costs maybe $5.

If you're living in 1990. Escort Max 360 c way outperforms the ancient Valentine, plus has an active GPS database. That's what I use, with a BlendMount.

Been using high end Whistler detectors for the last 20 yrs.
Even though i don't habitually speed, they all still paid for themselves over and over again.
I currently have a Whistler CR190 GPS/radar/red light camera detector in my truck.
If i remember correctly it was around a couple hundred dollars.
The best bang for the buck IMO.

I run an R3, the R7 is great with the directional arrows. I used to run a V1 but they are no longer the leader of the pack. You can't go wrong with an Escort or Uniden.

I don't care about the features... don't need it to dance and play tunes and have fancy OLED displays that are hard to read. And the GPS crap is great, unless there happens to be a cop working radar in front of the store that always sets off your detector so you've GPSed it away. From a pure RFperformance perspective, the V1 still wins.
