Default Question on pricing

Good Morning!

This summer I will be in the market for a pickup, coming from a 07' WRX. I'm interested in the 2017 F 150 Sport Super Crew 4X4. I've been pricing it out at TrueCar, and for the XLT Sport as described, with the 302A and 2.7L ecoboost is around $40,000. Does that seem about right to anyone who has purchased a new F 150 SCREW XLT Sport recently?

I'd also like to know, the ability to gain access to the truck without the keys by just pushing a button on the door handle as long as the key is in proximity of the vehicle, is that only available on the Lariat?

Thanks!

Push button option you seek is lariat only.

The f150 xlt often can be had for 8-12k off sticker depending on options. The lariats have less discounts. Hope this helps.

I think by push button access he means the keypad on the door pillar. Which is available (if not standard?) on XLT models. I have it on mine.

I got my '16 4x4 302A with 2.7 ecoboost for $33k (Window was $47k). Should be able to get a 2wd for about the same in a '17.

When you are shopping, see if the dealerships participates in the Costco pricing program.

I got 5k off my 2016 and discounted parts and discounted ESP maintenance plan.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the tips. I was pricing with USAA and Consumer Reports True Car. For the Lariat I was looking at (501 option Sport 2.7l) it was around 46,000

USAA and True Car are one and the same. In the past, USAA offered a few extra cash incentives to sweeten the deal, but I have not seen those in several years. TrueCar prices are much higher than you should pay for a truck. A good ballpark starting number is 18% or better off MSRP. The XLT Ecoboost will provide the highest percentage off, but I managed 19% off on a fully loaded Lariat.

My advice: Search for the #1 volume dealer in your area or state. Search using Autotrader and find the best advertised prices that meet your desires.

Search Autotrader for new ones you're saying?

Interesting. I didn't think true car prices were that high. They looked like pretty good deals.

Youre looking for a 17 while still in 16. Pricing is going to be high... for a while.

I bought my 2015 in October of 2015 for $43700. 501a, screw, fx4, 3.5.

No, that's not what he is referring to. He's referring to Intelligent Access.

OP, you're looking to buy a truck in 7 or 8 months. Pricing, i.e. discounts, offered now are irrelevant in that case. You can price the truck on the Ford site and configure it any way you want, it will show sticker. Again, wasting time on a discount site today vs. 7 months from now is just that, wasting time.

What you want to do is pay invoice, less part/all of dealer holdback, less rebates.

Many posts about how to get good discounts - several are mentioned here. Also X-Plan, which you can get by joining some Associations. No games playing, $100 max paperwork fee. Very nice.
