I don't find proximity unlock that much more exciting than push button unlock.
Lol. They key does the same thing anyway. You'd be surprised how much is still running in the truck when you shut it off, key or IA FOB.

My wife and I have one of each, hers being PBS. This 59 YO guy couldn't care less, as long as it starts.

Edit: Probably when I decide to get rid of my 2012 PLat, the next vehicle will be PBS, as I'll replacing the current truck with a Lariat or above.

My wife's car is push button start and mine has the key. It is nice that you don't have to remove the keys from your pocket to unlock/lock doors and start engine. I do wish my truck had it.

I really wish Ford would move to a start system like on my wife's Audi Q7...the entire fob is placed into a slot next to the steering column to start the vehicle. Ferrari and a few others also use this. I like it over anything else I have seen or used..... BUT if I am limited to what Ford offers, lol, I prefer push button start.....which i dont have.

When I bought my truck the finance manager tried for 10 minutes to sell me extended coverage. He kept pointing out how much gadgetry there is on new vehicles that have no long term reliability proven. Good thing he wasn't selling the truck. But, I could still walk. I can remember when the big push was for credit life insurance. I guess they wore that one out or it became illegal or something.

I'm curious as to why you prefer this? Seems like the worst of both worlds. You have a fob, and STILL have to dig it out of your pocket. I would much rather just jump in the truck and push the button. What are the advantages you see?

Hey Goose, I've never seen that method before (Q7). Not to sound like an *****, but doesn't that kinda defeat the convenience of pbs by leaving the keys in your pocket. I'm only guessing that it's more secure, but not quite as convenient. Just curious man, but why do you like that better than traditional (Ford's) pbs? Thanks man.

So do you not ever use the remote start on yours? That's the thing keeping me from doing the same as you and leaving it in the truck.

PBS is the way to go for sure.

Beat me to it. I love leaving the fob in my pocket. For my truck, for my Stingray and for my CVO Harley
