Push button start?
i drove a 2015 Lariat today and it had the push button start, I thought forsure only the 2.7L had the push start but the sales manager said it had the 3.5L, the engine even sounded way different than my 3.5L EB.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thank you

I think it might depend on the trim level. I was at the auto show yesterday and got to check out the 2015's. I sat in the 2.7L which was fitted to a fairly standard looking configuration (don't remember which one) and there was no push start. It had a conventional keyed ignition switch.
I was just at the dealer today taking my 13 in for her 4th oil change and sat in the 502A lariat FX4 and all I could say was wow!! Push button start as well fully loaded etc, made me think of trading in until I seen the 62K price tag lol, I only paid 36K for my 13 Fx4 back in 2013 lol, if I'm going to spend that much $$$$ on a truck I'll be buying a diesel!!!!

Agreed. I think it would make more sense to honk if the fob was left inside the truck vs when it's in your pocket. Of course, no honk at all would make the most sense

With some smarts anyone can add this feature to their vehicle for a few bucks. I know a guy who pulled the ignition switch off the column and installed a push button in its place. MAke sure you have an alarm..
Push button is available on Lariats and above. Doesn't matter what engine (well not the 3.5L NA one as that's not available on Lariats and above).
Push button is more than just the button replacing a key switch. It also relies on a proximity sensor on the key to enable authentic the key to the car to enable the ignition.

I currently have push button start on a 2012 $21,000 non-Ford vehicle and absolutely luv it. I will soon be adding a 2016 Lincoln 2.7L to my stable with push button start...like the BLIS system & backup camera, I wouldn't be without such practical systems in the future.
