Default Puddle lamp under the mirror

I'm looking at new 17's trucks and it seems dealers don't order XLT's with the puddle lamp option. I believe it is standard on Lariat and above but is an option on XLT. I've found an XLT that has everything I want except the puddle lamp and asked the sale guy if it can be added later. He came back and said it has to come from the factory with it and can't be added afterward. Does anybody know if it can be done or they were just trying to sell me a truck?

My XLT came with puddle lamps as well as spot light mirrors. It is a 302A package.

I'm wondering if the spot light mirror option automatically adds puddle lamps, maybe...

It is part of that $175 option. It is so cheap you'd think they would order all trucks with it.

Props to tmcolegr for posting in the other XLT with puddle lights thread. Made yesterday. As far as adding I don't recall seeing anyone retro them.

Option 59S:

LED Side-mirror Spotlights (with High-Intensity LED Security Approach Lamps; req. 54R Manual-folding, Power Glass Sideview Mirror (54R is optional on XLT Base, included on XLT Mid and Luxury) or 59S is required with 54Y Manual-folding, Manually Telescoping, Power Glass Trailer Tow Mirrors)

I knew it is included with the side spotlights but was wondering if you can swapped out mirrors if it didn't come from the factory that way.

The non Spotlight/Puddle Light mirrors require a 20 pin harness. Your XLT only has the 8 pin harness. You can't just buy the mirrors and plug em in and be done. You could add them but would require you to do some wiring.

Absolutely you can add mirrors that did not come from the factory with options that "aren't available." It comes down to how much you want to spend.

This thread documents swapping to powerfold mirrors, but the process would be very similar for non powerfold mirrors:

If you dont need a truck right NOW, why not just custom order a 17' while there is still time? This way you get exactly what you want.

I could but figured I wouldn't be able to "work" with them on price
