Default Program brake controller 2015

2015 F-150 Platinum

Can forscan change the settings on a brake controller. Mine has a 6-7 second delay before the brakes work and the gain only goes to four EVEN when I set the gain to 10. Been told I have to carry it to Ford for changes. Hoping forscan can do it.

If you have a non-Ford brake controller, there is no programming. A Ford controller has on or off in the configuration to my knowledge.

I believe there are no settings, it works or doesn't. How do you know it's not the trailer with issues? Or the trailer's wiring?

Well since I’ve owned this ford f150 the last 4 yrs the brakes haven’t worked on the trailer. Before the ford my Silverado truck hooked to the same trailer the brakes were working. I completely put new wiring on the trailer last week. All lights are working hut no brakes on the trailer. The trailer equipment store that checked my truck today on showed a gain of 4 after 6-7 seconds of holding the brake petal. He says the gain of 4 was probably just not enough for me to notice slowing me down. So therefore I’m asking could the forscan do anything to help with the brakes.

Forscan or dealer cannot program it to be 4 seconds faster. Forscan just allows you to enable it to work.

Your ITBC could be faulty. It shouldn’t have any type of delay. Mine works flawlessly.

First have you tried the override slider on the controller to confirm it is working. At a low speed, preferably in a parking lot or such, move the slider to the right and get a sense of how the trailer brakes are working. Look in the trailer settings menu on the dash display. There are three (mine does at least) output settings, light , medium & heavy. You tried the fine control slider but may need to increase the output range. Also are you sure your trailer brakes are set properly? They may need an adjustment or be faulty.

We were at the trailer business I went to and we did override the slider to confirm it was working. But this was with his trailer wire tester hooked up to my bumper connector, not with the trailer in tow. I see by your profile you have a 2018 I believe with towing package also. Maybe my truck being a Platinum is a little different. I do not believe my truck has the output settings, low, medium and high. No I am not sure my trailer brakes are set properly, by that I am assuming that I need to try adjusting them tighter as in older cars and try again. I think this is what you are referring to. Thankyou
