^what he said. Payload = GVWR - Curb weight. If you're loaded up with trim/options your available payload will be less.

I have a 2017 XLT 302A, 3.5 EcoBoost and 157" wheel base. No Pano roof or tailgate step. 2043 payload. Soon you'll see the HDPP people chiming in with their 3000 payload.

It's hard to teach an old dog like me new tricks.
And being a new Ford owner, I am starting to get used to their tricks. MOST every other forum and manufacturer of old includes the driver and gas in the payload. Obviously this tilts in Fords favor for having better payloads.. I will spred the word on RV Forums as I come across threads as this. Not sure if the other boys are doing this, disappointing actually. Makes it even tougher for the average guy to get his specs in order.

That's pretty good for no HDPP. Have a 2020 301a HDPP with a little bit over 2,500lbs of payload.
