Default Pandora & Sync 3 question

Hi All,

Hoping some of you can help me as I've searched this site and the web trying to get an answer to my question for a couple hours now without success.

How does one change Pandora or Spotify stations when iPhone is connected via USB port?

I have a lot of great stations programmed in Pandora and can't seem to access them. I've tried voice controls to no avail with commands like "Pandora Michael Jackson" station or just Michael Jackson station and have even tried saying Michael Jackson. But continually get responses back from Sync like don't understand or it shows me something that makes no sense at all. Additionally I can't change stations from the phone because some Ford with up / down arrows has taken over my Pandora app. Please note this is only when connected via USB. Connecting via Bluetooth I can change stations but has to be done via the phone which obviously is distracting when one is driving.

I've also tried the USB module that supports Apple Car Play and while it works and I can tune Pandora / Spotify stations via the Sync console screen I don't like the way it looks. Artwork is terrible and overall looks worse (more amature) than early MS Window's / Apple screens. Another thing I don't like about Apple Car Play is that is disables Ford's Navigation which I think is 100x better than Apple Maps which I'm forced to use while in CarPlay mode.

So in the end I'm really looking to do something I feel is very simple which is to change Pandora or Spotify stations via the Sync console or voice commands.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I use Pandora App, over Bluetooth with my Android phone. No need for USB connection this way, atleast with Android.(dunno for iphone)

Stations are changable by 8 inch touchscreen or voice command.

He is actually looking for the voice commands.

He should try "play {short pause} Metallica" since there is no reason for anyone to suffer through michael jackson any longer.

Hey Madcap57

Michael Jackson was just an example

But do have a question. If I say play Louie Armstrong or similar how does Sync know to change to Louie Armstrong on Pandora rather than check my itunes playlists? Would I have to say "Pandora play Louie Armstrong" to ensure Sync looks for Louie Armstrong on Pandora?

Something I'll try tomorrow but still looking to be able to somehow find a command that would let me list all my Pandora stations (maybe with numbers) and then select a station from a list.

Thx..

I'm using Pandora over Bluetooth from an Android, and it works fine. But, I cant get the Spotify app to connect or show up as a Sync app. What am I missing?

Oh, and I've got the latest Sync, Android 6.0, Pandora 7.9, and Spotify 7.0.

Hi gpojunk,

Take a look at the following article to insure you are following the correct steps for AppLink: https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-...martphone.html

Thanks!

If I read the reference right, different androids have different limits on the number of apps they can run with Sync. It looks like my phone may be limited to two apps, and I currently have Pandora and another linked. I need to see how to pick the two apps I want running....

gpojunk,

Oh, I see. Have you removed one of the apps and stream Spotify to make sure it's running properly?

I've looked at the number of apps that show up, and Pandora is the only one. I can't get any other apps to show up in the F150 display. while Spotify does not show up on my F150 display, pif I start it on my phone and select the phone as my audio source, I can control Spotify from the F150 display. I know Spotify did show up as an app in the past. but as noted in other threads it may be a Spotify update no longer shows up as an app in Sync.
